I also had similar thoughts before and as both of ours confidence was super high, we secretly went to hunt down some bandits making trouble in a nearby village.
We were very naive and confident. There numbers of bandits were too much and we were overwhelmed by sheer numbers alone. We also had little to no combat experience, so we were defeated and captured by them.
Still as the bandits were individually weaker than us, we still had some confidence in running away from them after recovering our strength a little. But we did not get the chance.
