"I've already contacted her. She should arrive soon." Jin Hao spoke beside the old man, slowly descending to the mansion's courtyard.
"Nothing strange happened? No one came after you?" He asked, looking into his daughter's eyes.
"No, dad. I've been alone since my husband left." Meilin replied, eliciting a sigh from Jin Hao.
He saw a moment of hesitation on her face, but nothing big enough to arouse suspicion.
"Did something happen,Dad? You seem anxious." She asked, standing up, her eyes shifting between the three men.
Fortunately, her grandfather seemed to have gotten along well with Qingyi, although that wasn't exactly the concern Meilin had in mind.
What could she say?
Go to her father and tell him how Khaedryss used the Sky-Defying Thunder Sword as a club to slowly beat one of his wives to death?
