Upon witnessing this scene, Sandman seemed to realize something. With a great roar, he charged toward the two women. Sylvia merely gave him a cold, indifferent look before turning her gaze to Felicia. Felicia gave an "OK" gesture and then pressed the button on the remote in her hand.
In an instant, the pre-arranged electromagnetic coils blanketed the entire area. As Sandman advanced, he felt as if his body were being torn apart, so much so that he could no longer maintain his physical form. Meanwhile, Sylvia tossed an empty glass bottle into the air and fired a shot at it.
The bullet she fired was actually one containing Pym Particles, designed to enlarge objects.
The glass bottle grew to a massive size in an instant and slammed down heavily onto the ground, trapping Sandman completely. Of course, given Sandman's combat prowess, he would normally only need a couple of punches to shatter the glass, but that was predicated on having the opportunity to do so. At the moment, Sandman was merely struggling in agony to hold his body together.
"By reverting your spirit into every individual grain of sand and making the sand you control and assimilate your entire physical body, you can evade soul-based attacks. Although I don't know much about magic, I can see the flaw in this so-called advantage." Felicia shrugged. "What happens if every single one of your sand grains can no longer coalesce?"
This was the method Peter Parker had originally prepared for Sandman during his trip to Europe: magnetizing his sand body so that every grain would repel the others due to magnetic force, eventually causing him to explode into a cloud of scattered dust. If this move were used against Sandman in a spiritual state, it might only temporarily disperse his form—but what if it were used against a Sandman who had made the sand his actual physical vessel?
Then, he would face total annihilation.
However, if Sandman had not accepted Belasco's modifications and remained in his original form, he likely would have been immediately pummeled by Peter's magic, and the Sinister Six would have stood almost no chance of winning.
It was unclear if Sandman heard these words. He thrashed back and forth inside the glass bottle, desperately trying to control his body. But as the electrical current intensified, he became increasingly unable to stop his form from collapsing. Felicia watched nervously as Sandman rolled and slammed against the barrier, unable to stop herself from asking, "You know... if the others haven't trapped Electro, we're dead meat, right?"
Sylvia glanced at Felicia, sensing she was just talking to fill the nervous silence.
"If you're feeling anxious, you can go take a rest first."
"I just hope all this effort doesn't go to waste. So, if we succeed, will we be the first ones to have solved our problem?"
Theoretically, Mysterio was the first, Sylvia thought silently. She then looked at Sandman, who was making his final stand inside the glass bottle. As the current spiked, he finally reached his limit. With a loud pop, he exploded into a pile of loose sand that drifted to the bottom.
"You have nothing to worry about. He was a mercenary; he was prepared for death long ago. If he wasn't, then he chose the wrong profession."
Sylvia gave a final reminder: "Go rest now. The Wild Pack will handle the cleanup."
"No, I still have a friend to save."
Meanwhile, inside Avengers Tower, as Electro returned to the summit, Ultron's countermeasures began to gradually fail. However, Scorpion, whose symbiote suit had been completely neutralized, was clearly unsatisfied with this. He muttered helplessly and glared at Silk, who had been slacking off. "I... I'm going to take that woman and..."
"Be careful. She's not alone. I just ran into another woman, and there was something strange about her."
Electro, who had never come into contact with Shadowcat, muttered his warning. But hearing this, Scorpion flew into a rage. "I don't care what kind of woman she is or what she plans to do, I'm going to... What the?!"
His ankle was grabbed, and he was pulled down through the floor as he phased into it. As the phasing ended, the majority of Scorpion's body was left fused and stuck within the floorboards. Seeing this, Electro immediately moved to rescue him, only to collapse the moment he made contact with the ground.
Kitty Pryde had changed her clothes. The blue suit she wore now was made of the same material as the Velocity Suit, ensuring that Electro would short-circuit and collapse the moment he touched her. Electro screamed as he flew back into the air, while Scorpion violently shattered the floorboards and crawled out.
Watching Kitty emerge beside her, Cindy asked with a hint of confusion, "I thought his body would have merged with the floor or something..."
"Eww, that's way too gross."
"But it's effective. At the very least, half his body would be crippled by now."
"I'll... I'll kill you all!"
The tail behind Scorpion's back immediately switched into a machine gun configuration, spraying bullets in both directions. Kitty grabbed Cindy's hand and instantly phased to dodge the onslaught. Subsequently, Scorpion's tail transformed into a subsonic cannon. Even if you were immune to physical attacks, could you be immune to sonic waves?
Then, his raised tail was severed.
Nightcrawler arrived on the scene with Logan. Due to the limited distance of his teleportation and the fact that he couldn't carry too many people, the X-Men that Cyclops had brought to support Spider-Man had initially relied on Magik's movements. This had resulted in most of the X-Men being taken to the past by Kang.
The remaining X-Men stayed behind, though they only consisted of Nightcrawler (who served as Magik's substitute), Logan and Rogue (who had been investigating Mister Sinister), and Beast, who was watching the home front.
"Sorry, girls, I had to wait for the right timing to get here." Looking at Scorpion and his severed tail, and ignoring Nightcrawler who had flashed away again, Logan grinned at him. "What else have you got?"
Then, Logan saw Scorpion's face turn a sickly green. His entire visage began to generate chitinous scales, much like a real scorpion. Following this, he pounced toward Logan, who lunged back with his claws bared in excitement.
At that critical moment, the over-extended Scorpion was caught at the back of the head by Cindy's webbing. This, combined with his high-speed momentum and the sheer force of Logan plunging his claws into him, sealed his fate.
His chest was pierced by the claws, and his cervical spine snapped instantly due to the tension from the webbing. He slammed heavily into the ground.
So, why hadn't Electro come to help?
Rogue, who had been brought along by Nightcrawler, provided the answer. As a mutant himself, Electro was currently pinned to the ground. Rogue was chasing the victory, pressing her knee against his neck and holding her hand firmly over his face.
As his breathing grew increasingly shallow, Electro's vision went black, and he slumped into unconsciousness.
