Otto Octavius arrived in another laboratory. He proactively expelled the artificial symbiote from his body and detached the mechanical tentacles from his back, preparing to undergo the entire experiment alone. He did not allow the other members of the Sinister Six to participate in the process; it was not that he distrusted their loyalty, he simply did not trust their intelligence.
"Spider-Man might know what I am doing, and he might take this opportunity to try something else. But remember one thing: until I give the order, none of you are allowed to move. Do you understand?"
Doctor Octopus issued the command to the Sinister Six from inside the lab. As the leader of the group and the only one capable of communicating directly with Kang, Doctor Octopus held absolute control over them. Consequently, the others said nothing and simply waited patiently at the top of Avengers Tower.
As Doctor Octopus lay down in the experimental pod, he watched the hatch slowly close. He felt the specially formulated Spider-Serum and Erskine Serum being injected into his body. Then, a massive surge of electricity began to pour into Avengers Tower. The entire energy output of the Ark Reactor powering the tower was diverted toward a single point, to the extent that Electro had to begin siphoning power from the surrounding grid just to keep the tower operational.
This became the most obvious signal possible.
"Quick, quick, quick! Doctor Octopus's experiment has started!"
Kitty Pryde led the way, carrying the shrunken laboratory to a pier on the edge of Manhattan. Once there, she restored the lab to its full size on the vacant lot. Dr. Connors and Peter immediately rushed inside, while Flash Thompson thrust one hand directly into the electric wall surrounding Manhattan and connected the other to the lab's power cables. Utilizing himself and the Speed Force suit, they began siphoning electricity back from Electro.
"Laboratory power is stable. The Erskine Serum is ready."
Dr. Connors spoke as he injected the serum into Peter's body. "In theory, the injection combined with your existing DNA should produce results on its own; there shouldn't be a need for Vita-Ray bombardment like the others."
"But we don't have time."
"Yes, we don't have time."
Connors watched as the shirtless Peter lay down in the experimental pod. He nodded to him, flipped the switch, and stepped back from the device to stand with the girls who had accompanied Peter. Looking at the group of young women, he silently backed away a few more steps.
They were also prepared to deal with the Sinister Six; in fact, Peter had designed specific counter-plans for them to combat each member. They were on guard against an ambush, but fortunately, the Sinister Six had not made an appearance.
A brilliant white light illuminated the surroundings. Dr. Connors watched tensely. Under the influence of Vita-Rays, the Erskine Serum would accelerate DNA transcription and cell division, forcibly promoting physical transformation and secondary development. Theoretically, this process was extremely dangerous; without peak willpower, one could easily die under the Vita-Ray exposure.
Most of the girls were unaware of this fact. Felicia knew, but she did not believe for a moment that Peter Parker's willpower would fail against this level of pain. In fact, Peter didn't even have a particularly strong outward reaction.
As the irradiation concluded, the pod was forced open from the inside. Everyone saw a drenched, sweat-covered Peter Parker. Unexpectedly, Peter's height had not changed significantly. His muscle definition was beautiful, but he hadn't reached the bulk of Captain America, nor did he look like a bodybuilder from a steroid-filled planet. In fact, he looked almost unchanged.
Silver Sable looked at Dr. Connors with confusion. "Does this... count as a success?"
"It's a success..."
Cindy Moon walked toward Peter. She could sense a vibrant, surging vitality coming from him; Peter Parker was stronger now than he had ever been. Peter stretched his limbs slightly, allowing the Anti-Venom symbiote to cover his body before firing a web to pull over the classic red-and-blue suit resting on a mannequin.
"I think if I'm going to fight Otto, it's best to wear this suit," Peter said as he pulled on the costume. He then looked at Cindy, who had walked up to him. "Uh, what's wrong?"
"No, it's nothing. You just look... healthier than before." Unable to find the right word, Cindy shook her head quickly. She had just felt a strange attraction to Peter and had felt the urge to touch him, but she stopped herself just in time. "Are we heading out then? It's time to deal with the Sinister Six."
"Yes. Everyone except Mysterio needs to head out to face the Sinister Six. I've already given you the solutions for each of them; make sure everyone finds their specific target."
Peter spoke as he pulled on his mask. "We will have the final showdown with the Sinister Six at Avengers Tower. Otto's procedure is complete, but he refuses to leave the tower. He's waiting for us—specifically, he's waiting for me to go there."
Felicia interrupted him. "Sorry, but how can you be so sure?"
"I saw it."
"???"
"My Spider-Sense has been integrated and enhanced. It's no longer just a simple warning of danger, or generating shadow images, or buzzing incessantly... well, it still does those things, but the point is, my Spider-Sense can now help me predict the future," Peter said simply, dropping a bombshell. "It's as simple as that."
"Let's go. It's time to see Otto."
Top of Avengers Tower.
As the Vita-Ray irradiation ended, the iron door of the pod was kicked open. A young man appearing to be in his mid-twenties stepped out with a satisfied smile. He was tall, with full, powerful muscle definition.
The artificial symbiote crawled over his body, transforming into a suit that was black on the bottom and white on the top, featuring an octopus emblem on the chest—a design very similar to Spider-Man's. The mechanical arms on his back, upgraded with Avengers technology, integrated into his neural interface.
He couldn't help but laugh aloud.
"The symbiote suit, neural prosthetics, the Erskine Serum, and the power of the Spider!" Otto looked at his reflection, which now bore a striking resemblance to Spider-Man. "Now, I am—the Superior Octopus!"
"Otto? Looks like you're finished?"
Electro's voice rang out immediately. "Spider-Man is here, and he's brought a whole crowd of friends."
"We'll wait for them right here, Dillon." The Superior Octopus smiled. "I am going to kill an Avenger, right here in Avengers Tower."
