Chapter 14 - The Eye that saw too far

Back on her home world—Planet Chante—

reality finally caught up with fear.

The skies still burned faintly from residual energy. Mountains stood cracked like broken teeth. The ground trembled with aftershocks that refused to fade.

"Uh… what happened?" someone whispered, voice shaking.

"My baby—!"

A cry tore through the crowd.

Nagant slammed his fist into the scorched ground, the impact fracturing stone beneath him. Dust and ash billowed upward as his teeth clenched in rage.

"Damn you, Vibe!" he roared, grief and fury twisting together as he collapsed to his knees, breath ragged. "Why… why did it have to be you…?"

Not far away, Rose stood frozen, her rose-colored eyes scanning the ruined horizon.

"Where is Vibe?" she asked quietly—too quietly.

Jin-nah turned away, jaw tight.

"She's not here. Alright?"

The words hit harder than any blow.

Then a heavy presence stepped forward.

■ Sani-woo, Head of the Clan.

His expression was grave, eyes carrying the weight of truth no child should have to hear.

"She's out there," he said, voice low. "In space."

A hush fell.

"We were too weak to retaliate. Too weak to fight back. We would have died—every one of us." His fist trembled. "But she… she stood her ground against a Servant of a Demi-God."

Disbelief rippled through the students.

Silence followed.

Then—

Yaomie stepped forward.

Her expression hardened—not with fear, but resolve.

"Alright then," she said.

She raised her hand.

"CELESTIAL EYE—OFF, THY SEER."

Her eyes ignited with an eerie emerald glow, ancient symbols spiraling within her pupils. A massive circular sigil bloomed open in the air, layers of light unfolding like cosmic petals.

The Nine Heads of Clans gathered around it.

The students followed, drawn by dread and awe alike.

The circle expanded—

piercing atmosphere, space, distance—

Until it overlooked the entire solar system.

Stars drifted in silence.

Planets rotated slowly.

Then—

A shadow moved.

Nillar's breath hitched.

"L-look… what's that?"

The shadow warped—

and vanished.

A heartbeat passed.

Then—

It was there.

Closer.

Facing them.

A pair of eyes opened within the void—

burning, distorted, murderous.

Not looking at space.

Looking at them.

The circle trembled violently.

Some students stepped back in terror. Others collapsed to their knees, unable to breathe.

Yaomie's eyes widened.

"That presence…"

The shadow stared through the Celestial Eye—

through distance—

through protection—

And smiled.

Somewhere beyond reality, Vibe looked back.
