A week after the battle against the demonic angel Ezra, those who had managed to flee from her slaughter returned to rebuild.
The news spread far an wide across the country of Ninsha. Prompting every chief to help in the rebuild of their great capital.
Saw dust floats through the air as Bael weaves through construction workers carrying large planks of wood.
Into the fields he went in search of someone. He walked through the now tall grass until he spotted a figure in the distance.
Found you.
Taking a deep breath, Bael began walking over. Each step felt heavier than the last as he slowly took deep breaths until he reach him, Shin. Who was slumped over, head in between his legs as he radiating an aura of defeat.
Bael sat down next to him and waited. The silence stretched on for what felt like hours upon hours.
How do I do this again. Fuck. Why did you drag me into this Satel.
Bael cursed under his breath when he finally decided to take a look at Shin and the pitiful state he was in.
Curse my caring heart.
Bael cleared his throat, "Get up student. Now is not the time to be mourning your enemies," he said.
Shin responded with silence before locking eyes with Bael. Shin's silver eyes had now turned Grey and dull with black eye bags underneath crumbling under the weight of sorrow.
Bael awkwardly sighed," I know it must have been hard to kill her, since you know more than all of us how much she suffered. But that doesn't mean it wasn't necessary," He managed to say.
Shin let out a long breath as he face towards the sky.
"Just because it was necessary doesn't mean I should've,"he turned and faced Bael," Do you know what I saw?"
Bael shook his head.
" She was a scared little girl fighting for her freedom, for her loved ones....and she was used and discarded, I killed her! "
Shin now his full body facing Bael stared at him with trembling hands and tearful eyes. Bael embraced Shin.
"You were doing the same thing weren't you. So why beat yourself up about it. She wouldn't have right?" Bael asked as he moved back and stared at Shin.
Shin blinked a few times then looked down before wiping his tears and facing Bael.
"You're right," Shin whispered.
Bael smiled as he hit Shin on the head. Shin responded with dry, hollow chuckle before they both got up and headed towards the village.
When they reach near the chiefs house, they found Satel frantically looking around. When he spotted them she ran over to them.
"There you two are! I've been looking everywhere. We are out of time," She said frantically.
She stopped and looked at Shin before placing both her hands on his face.
"Are you doing better now?" She asked in a soft voice.
Shin smiled back with a crooked smirk, "I'm fine now princess,"
Satel squinted her eyes at him.
"Gre..at, then start packing and I'll go look for my father. We'll meet up afterwards," she hasitantly said before shooting a glance at Bael and running off.
Bael wrapped his arm around Shin as they both enter the chief's house.
