Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: LP's Different Use

They all worked together, and in a few minutes, they had sowed all the seeds. Some areas had more, but there was no shortage anywhere.

Lucan and the others returned to where they were resting. The others were chatting while Lucan looked at the farming plot.

Nors's voice came, disturbing his thoughts, if he was having any. "Lord, now that the seeds have been sown, how long will it take for them to grow, if Cedric is going to take care of them?"

Lucan looked at Nors, thought for a second, and replied, "I am not a gardener or a farmer. How would I know how they grow or anything related to them?"

"Ah… yes, Lord," Nors said with a chuckle. "I forgot for a second that you were not a farmer."

Lucan, now resting with the others, thought to himself, "Now that the grass seeds have been sown, I can just wait for Cedric to grow them. But in my system, there are LP—Land Points. They must have something to do with the land. In the future, they could be used to do something to the land or make something appear on it. I don't know if it's possible, but…" He looked left and right and saw that the others were just chatting, not paying attention to him.

"I have more than 50 LP. Why don't I use one LP on this farming plot and see if something happens? If nothing happens, it's just one LP, and I can earn it back easily," he thought, and with that certainty in his mind, he sent a thought to the system.

"System, use one LP on this farming plot," was Lucan's thought. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Lucan looked at the farming plot with wide eyes. Nors and the others' eyes also turned to him. Seeing their lord looking at the farming area, they looked as well, hoping for something to happen.

"It seems one LP has been spent and there was no reaction," Lucan thought.

As soon as his thought ended, a light appeared. It wasn't too bright, but it was enough to make Lucan and the others blink. In that blink, a shocking sight appeared

.

There was green grass in the farming area where they had just sown the seeds. A few seconds ago, it was just a clear space with soil, but now it was full of grass the height of Lucan's legs. The others—Cedric, Evan, Kenny, and Nors—were also shocked. The others were too far away to see, but this was an entirely shocking thing for those who were close by.

Nors asked with a puzzled expression, "Lord, this… can a mage even do this? Lord, I didn't know you were this powerful a mage."

Evan said, "Lord, if we can just sow seeds and then get the crops, this land will be much more livable than it is now."

Cedric rubbed his eyes. First, he looked at the fully green grass, then at Lucan, and said in a shocked voice—because it was the second time something like this had happened—"Lord, you were a mage? I thought you had some special power, but you're a mage?"

"Lord, we can even get animals here now," Kenny said, thinking about a future problem. "There aren't any now, but this grass will be good for feeding them."

While they all talked about the shocking thing they had just seen, Lucan's eyes were on something else. It was his system and the prompt that had appeared.

[You have discovered how to use LP in a different way, which you were going to learn in the future.]

[Because of this, you can now use LP to grow plants. The more time a plant takes time to grow, the more LP it will consume.]

[You have obtained the rewards.]

[The rewards are: five gold bricks, a horse with a carriage, 20% growth boost for plants (7 days).]

The prompts came and stopped for a moment. Lucan looked at them all. He had obtained a horse with a carriage and some gold bricks that would likely be in the carriage, along with the plant boost.

He looked left and right, and there, toward the location of the fence, was a carriage with a horse attached to it. Marcus and Elias were walking with it and were coming toward them. Lucan and the others also looked at the horse, but Lucan's eyes were on a new prompt that was different from the last ones.

[In this land, you have made it so people can live. They can also raise animals because now they can eat the grass that you will be growing.]

[But you don't have any animals other than the horse. That's why animals are now available in the normal store. You can see the livestock category to purchase them.]

[NOTE - Don't buy animals if you or others can't raise them well enough.]

As soon as these prompts came, Lucan wanted to see the new category. His thought process was much faster than others.

When they thought about something, it took them a second, but for Lucan, it would be a fraction of a second, so there was no problem for him to think.

[Normal Store - Animals]

[Chicken - 50 CP]

[Sheep - 100 CP]

[Goat - 100 CP]

[Cow - 5 LP]

[Horse - 5 LP]

The prices were very different. A goat and a sheep were more expensive if Lucan thought of it like 1 LP equals 10 CP, but the problem was that LP was more important.

It could change the land if Lucan had more of it, and CP could be collected easily just by doing some work. LP was hard to come by compared to CP, and there wasn't even a point changer. If there was, Lucan was going to use it.

Lucan now looked at all the animals. There were many different animals in the animal category, but they were blurred, so Lucan couldn't see them.

"Sometimes this system stays quiet and has nothing for days, but now the prompts are coming nonstop. If it's going to be like this in the future, then I should probably prepare for it whenever the prompts come," Lucan thought about the future. "I can't have any of these animals right now. I don't know how we will raise them. I have the food, but not a place for them to live."

Thinking about it, he looked at the screen, and then at the horse that was soon going to be in front of him.

The horse's coat was a dim black, not pure black. The muscles on its legs were well-defined, and its eyes were a striking blue. The rope attached to the hook on its nose looked too good to be true.

The carriage looked like one a royal or a noble just below a royal would own. It wasn't for travel but looked like a normal carriage that would carry loads of items, but with good texture and color—a mix between red and black, not fully black or gray, and not entirely red either.

The sound that came from its mouth—"Neigh… neigh"—was one of pure bliss. The sound echoed all over the place. Everyone looked at the horse, not the gold bricks that were inside the carriage.

Lucan got up and walked toward the horse slowly. Nors, Kenny, and all the others saw him going toward the horse. They must have been thinking this was also a part of their lord's power, so they just watched.

Elias and Marcus saw Lucan coming, so Elias was the one who spoke. "Lord, we came across this horse. It was just standing outside our fence. It looked like it wanted to come inside, so Marcus and I brought it in. But it wasn't too friendly to us, so Lord, be careful with him. He can kick you or push you."

Marcus listened to Elias's words and also said, "Yes, Lord. This horse was outside our fence with the carriage, but it wasn't friendly enough to let us ride it."

Lucan heard them, stopped for a second, and then walked forward and slowly raised his hand toward the horse. The eyes of everyone else watching were full of concern, hoping nothing would happen to their lord after hearing Marcus and Elias's warnings.

Lucan raised his hand, patted the horse's face, and then detached the horse from the carriage. "Let me help you."

With that, the horse was free. It instantly reared its front legs, striking a pose, and then ran here and there until it jumped over the fence and was gone.

The others were first relieved for Lucan, then curious, and now they were shocked. A few seconds later, they calmed themselves.

They all wanted to ask why their lord had done this, but Marcus was the one who spoke their question. "Lord, why did you do that? Will the horse even come back now that you have freed him?" Marcus was frustrated, but he couldn't show it on his face because the man in front of him was his lord.

"Marcus, Chetak will come back soon, after wandering around," Lucan said to Marcus. Elias also heard it.

They first had the thought that the horse's name was Chetak, and the second thought was why he would come back.

They didn't want to question their own lord, so they just left it at that and went back to their work.

The others also heard it, but they just stayed quiet. They were too tired to even say something.

If someone were to think about it, they would wonder how Lucan knew the horse's name, why he would come back, and more questions like that. But the answers were with Lucan, because of the system.

[The horse's name is Chetak. Wherever he is, if you just call out his name loudly, he will come running back.]

[But for it to happen, you need to bond with the horse. If you remove the carriage attached to him, then the ritual of bonding will be completed, and you can feel Chetak's feelings as your own.]

It was because of these prompts. Chetak was now basically his, so why would there be any problem regarding Chetak?

Lucan now looked at the carriage, going near it. He saw the gold bricks, which were placed just as he had thought. He gestured with his hand, and the bricks went into his inventory.

Lucan then went back to the others. He looked at Cedric and said, "Cedric, now that this grass has grown, I don't think there is any work for you."

"Lord, don't say it like that! What will I even do? How will I raise Lyra?" Cedric said in a pleading voice, but Lucan looked at him for a second.

He replied, "You are misunderstanding something, Cedric. I said there is no work for you because the grass has already grown. But I will give you other seeds so you can grow them. For now, I will talk to Ronan and have him make some tools to cut the grass."

"Thank God. For a second, I thought there would be no work for us. Sorry for not letting you finish your words, Lord," Cedric said to Lucan, and with that, Lucan and Cedric just grew quiet.

But Evan, breaking the tired silence, said, "Lord, now that we have a carriage and a horse, we can travel to another state and purchase the items we need. Ronan and Elara need a forge and anvil, and we could get some tools for our work and, if possible, some food supplies."

"I also thought about that, Lord," Kenny said, following up on his father, Evan's, idea. "Now that we have the carriage, we can get everything we need, but we don't have any money. Not my father, not my grandfather, nobody has any money on them." The father-and-son duo of Evan and Kenny were almost as quick-witted as Lucan.

"Yes, Lord, it's a great idea, but we don't have any money," Nors said with a smile. "Why don't we sell some of the fruits or rare materials found here? Or… we could sell Cedric to someone. They would probably pay us good money for this gardener."

It looked like he was actually going to sell Cedric. While they were the only two old men here, Nors secretly considered Cedric a friend, and Cedric felt the same. They were like two classic tsundere rivals.

"Lord, why don't we sell this old man?" Cedric retorted, his thoughts going directly to Lucan. "He doesn't even do anything, just sits here, rests, and eats what others get for him." Lucan first looked at both of them. These two were old men, yet the way they bickered was just like small children.
