Reality was a funny thing because when Kai killed Carliodas, what the guy said was actually true. Both Kai and Telia watched as her brother's soul left his body, then disappeared. Normally, the soul would enter the reincarnation cycle, but back on Windonia, Carliodas's body reformed thanks to progenitor decay, and he became a demigod.
"Wow. He wasn't joking. Usually, the bad guys lie just to stay alive. But no, he was being one hundred percent honest. This is a first." Kai was actually impressed
"We don't have time to be shocked! He's going to attack the kingdom! We need to head back, now!"
"Ahh, right. Yorrigan, send us away!" Nothing happened
"Telia, we might be stuck."
"What?! I thought you could travel between realms at will?!"
"Heh, I can, I was just fucking with you." He teleported them both back.
