Chapter 128 - Chapter 128: In-Depth Research, The Medium of Sealing

Nathan stared at the holographic screens in front of him, his eyes reflecting the endless streams of data. Charts pulsed with green gamma signatures, molecular structures rotated in three-dimensional models, and the rhythmic beeps of the lab's scanners filled the silent chamber.

For the first time in weeks, a satisfied gleam crossed his gaze.

He had done it. He had completely unraveled the mystery behind the Birth of Abomination.

Nathan now understood it all—the sequence of events that allowed a man to become a monster. He had mapped the entire process:

How gamma energy entered the body.

How the serum acted as a catalyst, igniting cell mutation.

How human physiology was torn apart and reforged into a hulking, abominable form.

It was no longer just theory. He had achieved a 100% analytical reproduction of the process. If he desired, Nathan could walk into his lab today, inject the right candidate with the serum, irradiate them under controlled gamma waves, and—just like that—birth another Abomination.

But there was a catch.

Not everyone could endure it.

The transformation demanded more than muscle and bone—it demanded willpower, the kind of unyielding will that could withstand the agony of cells ripping apart and mutating under fire. Only someone with extraordinary resolve could hope to survive the serum and emerge as something greater.

Nathan's lips pressed into a thin line. He had the knowledge to create new monsters, but he did not want to follow that path.

"No," he whispered to himself. "I don't want another Abomination. And I certainly don't want to become one myself."

His goal was sharper, cleaner, and infinitely more ambitious: to strengthen his own body without changing his form.

To keep his humanity intact, while surpassing even the gamma titans.

---

He scrolled through his data, reviewing the peculiar case of Emil Blonsky—the soldier who had become Abomination.

"In Blonsky's human state," Nathan murmured, eyes narrowing, "his body contained vast reservoirs of gamma energy hidden deep within each cell. Dormant, invisible… like sleeping dragons coiled in their lairs."

On the surface, Blonsky looked like an ordinary man. His bloodwork in human form was deceptively normal. But Nathan had discovered the truth: his cells were ticking bombs of potential.

"Once those energies are triggered," Nathan continued, "the cells ignite. Strength multiplies, appearance mutates, and Abomination is born."

His fingers danced across the console. Lines of code translated into living projections of cellular transformation. Human cells split, swelled, turned jagged and green. Energy spiked, skeletal frames distorted.

Nathan clenched his jaw.

"What I need to do," he whispered, "is to stimulate that kind of potential without allowing mutation. To push the body to the limits of gamma power while preserving the human form."

It was the greatest obstacle yet. One wrong step, and he could end up like the very monsters he studied.

But he wasn't afraid. The challenge only sharpened his determination.

---

Meanwhile, his research into another source of power pressed forward—the demonic essence.

Nathan had obtained invaluable data from his encounter with the old witch who once controlled those forces. The essence of demons was a volatile tide of corruption, a power that could rival gamma energy in sheer destruction.

But unlike gamma, it didn't strengthen the body naturally. Instead, it devoured, twisted, and transformed.

Nathan frowned as he studied the crimson-hued energy waves.

He had a plan.

"I will not seal the beast into myself," he declared. His voice echoed through the lab. "If I do, its corruption will infect me. My evolution is human-based. Demonization would compromise that foundation."

His ambition was not to become a half-demon tyrant, but to continue building the prototype of a true Superman. Step by step, he would integrate abilities, harmonize them, and eventually evolve into an organic whole greater than any one power.

Sealing the beast into himself would derail that path. It was too great a risk.

But he couldn't simply let the beast roam free either. A vessel was needed.

And so he thought carefully about who could bear the seal.

---

Nathan's answer surprised even himself:

Peter Parker.

His young protégé—his "little Spider-Man."

Peter was the closest to him, loyal and disciplined, trained under his watchful eye. The boy's spider abilities gave him agility, resilience, and sharp instincts. But Nathan knew the truth: Spider-Man's potential had a ceiling. Beyond a certain point, ordinary mutation could not elevate him further.

Unless…

Nathan envisioned it clearly: sealing the beast within Peter would be a form of sublimation. It would allow the boy to transcend the limits of his spider powers. By integrating a fragment of the demon's higher essence, Peter would gain access to a whole new realm of strength.

Yes, it was risky. But under Nathan's guidance, the reward outweighed the risk.

He turned to the eager young hero standing beside him.

"In the future," Nathan said slowly, "I will integrate the beast's power into your body. It will give you more strength, and open new paths of evolution."

Peter's eyes widened behind his mask. His hands clenched into fists, and his posture straightened with determination.

The boy didn't hesitate. He raised his hand, patted his chest, then punched the air with confidence.

The message was clear: I want to be stronger. I will protect you. I will fight for you.

Nathan's stern expression softened. He reached out, ruffling Peter's hair like an older brother or a mentor.

"You are indeed the most obedient and motivated," Nathan said warmly.

Peter quickly pulled out his phone, typing fast with his thumbs. A message flashed on the screen:

"After becoming a demon… can I still become human?"

Nathan paused, then nodded. "Yes. That much I can guarantee. The transformation will not rob you of your humanity."

Peter's eyes lit up instantly. His reply came in another quick set of taps:

"Then let's do it! Stronger and stronger! I'll become a great devil!"

He leaped in the air like an excited child. Nathan chuckled, though his gaze lingered with something deeper.

"It's good to have goals," he whispered. "Yes, Peter… you will become something far greater than even Spider-Man."

---

That night, Nathan immersed himself in sealing techniques. The more he studied, the more he refined the formula. Soon, he was confident.

"Soon," he murmured to himself, "I will be able to temporarily control demonic power. Once I stabilize it, I will enact the sealing ritual. And the beast will finally have its host."

He exhaled slowly, determination burning in his chest.

The next day, Nathan didn't skip his training. No matter how advanced his intellect, no matter how sharp his science, he knew one thing: research created potential, but only discipline forged it into reality.

Every day, he trained harder, lifting, sparring, testing his limits. Sweat rolled down his body as he drove himself past exhaustion. He relished the effort, because with every aching muscle came proof of his growth.

"This is joy," Nathan thought, his fists slamming against the reinforced training pads. "The joy of progress. Inch by inch, rise by rise."

---

It was during one of these training sessions at his company's gym that something unexpected happened.

As he adjusted his gloves, a sudden, crisp voice broke through the sounds of equipment.

"Hey! It's you!"

A light tap landed on his shoulder.

Nathan froze, his senses sharpening instantly.

He turned.

And what he saw made his brows furrow.
