Asher stayed silent for a moment. This was probably the first time Azaron had given him genuine, fatherly advice. Asher wouldn't deny it; he didn't possess any heightened alertness or sense of danger simply because he was heading to the battlefield. He treated it just like everything else: he would get there and go with the flow. That had always been his way.
He wasn't even surprised that Azaron knew about Lyra's breakthrough to the Crownstar Life Rank, as they had both deduced as much.
"I shall take every word seriously, Father," he stated, understanding that if he relied on Lyra too much for anything, he would eventually become dependent on her.
Although he didn't plan on doing that, as he would only request her help with things that were beyond his capabilities.
