"Worse than any Great Scar there could ever be, actually." Razeal suddenly added, his voice so plain that it somehow made the words land even heavier. Valerion's mouth, which had been slightly open as if he still wanted to say something, slowly closed. Razeal leaned back against his shadow throne and looked across the World Table.
"Maybe that's exactly why the gods allowed only our realm to have these dimensional holes while the Heavens remain completely disconnected from them." His fingers tapped once against the armrest.
"Think about it. I'm sure the gods could've dealt with any ordinary Great Scar. If something like what happened here thousands of years ago appeared in the Heavens, beings like them should've had more than enough strength to suppress it." His star-filled left eye narrowed slightly.
"Unless they knew what would eventually happen if they kept doing that." The tapping stopped.
