Feng Jiuge's eyes grew even redder, but this time she didn't hold back. A tear slid down her cheek.
"Thank you, Yang Cheng."
She spoke again to thank him, her beautiful eyes slightly reddened.
"Thank me for what? I just told the truth, that's all."
Yang Cheng stood up and reached a hand out to her. "Come on, come back with me first. You're badly hurt, you need proper rest."
Feng Jiuge looked at the hand he extended, hesitated for a moment, but still took it.
Her hand was icy cold, yet at the moment it touched Yang Cheng's palm, she felt a trace of warmth.
"I'll take you back."
Yang Cheng helped her to her feet, and the two of them walked out of the abandoned factory together.
The car sped through the night. Feng Jiuge leaned back in the seat, eyes closed, her breathing gradually evening out.
