Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 – The Unsullied Commander’s Wrath: “Let the Girl Go!”

Kerry was waxing eloquent, displaying his insightful judgment, while the hooded man nodded repeatedly. Suddenly, a loud boom startled them both so much they nearly ducked for cover.

At the same time, panicked shouting erupted outside the cabin, and a wave of heat surged in through the open doors.

"Ah! Put out the fire!"

"Dragonfire can't be extinguished! We should just abandon ship and escape!"

Splash! Splash!

The sound of people jumping overboard rang out without pause. The men mentioned dragonfire—clearly, Daenerys was venting her fury with her dragon. Kerry and the hooded man rushed toward the source of the noise.

The deck, the mast, the ship's tower—all had erupted into roaring flames!

The queen hovered above the fire astride Rhaegal, smiling faintly as she called down to the Golden Company's commander in mock apology:

"Commander Kerry, I'm terribly sorry. You stirred a fire in my body, and my foolish child misunderstood, thinking I was issuing him a command. And so, this trouble. This ship is no longer safe. I'll leave you a delicate little flower—take her with you and flee quickly."

With a meaningful blink and a soft murmur, Daenerys had Rhaegal turn back toward the fleet.

Missandei, who had been carrying a bowl of seaweed soup, had already dropped it in shock. Unable to swim, she screamed hoarsely for help:

"Your Grace, please don't leave me! Save me!"

Daenerys glanced back at her with a sinister smile but continued flying on.

"My friend, run!" the hooded man cried in a thick Westerosi accent. Then he vaulted the railing and dove into the sea.

Watching the queen's tiny figure and her golden-silver waterfall of hair vanish into the distance, Kerry smirked wickedly and murmured under his breath, "What a cunning bitch. 'The nature of the dragon is silver,' indeed."

Following her veiled hint, he scanned the ship and saw that only he and the panicked Missandei remained onboard.

The little leftover flower, still carrying the queen's scent, could not be allowed to perish. Kerry rushed over, scooped her up without a word, ran to the edge of the ship, and threw her into the sea—then leapt in after her.

The queen's actions shocked the entire fleet, driving home the lesson that dragons truly were the most dangerous creatures in the world—even when restrained by their mother and father.

Thanks to the Golden Company's extensive pirate training, their sailors were strong swimmers; not a single man drowned, and all were quickly rescued by nearby ships.

However, cries of pain soon rose from the ship that had pulled Kerry and Missandei aboard—but just as quickly fell silent.

Missandei, once a plaything of the slavers, now found herself at the mercy of the commander who held a third of the army's power. Despite now being under the open sky of freedom, she still knew her place and bore the humiliation in silence.

Reporting Kerry's misdeeds to Drogo was not an option—for what he had done, the queen had tacitly approved.

Besides, a ruler always weighs gains and losses; how could she be expected to care about the life of a single servant in a time of chaos?

Missandei was in anguish. The queen was no longer the queen she had once adored. Her kindness had slowly been eroded by corruption.

Just when the girl from Naath had begun to see the light, she found herself dragged back into darkness.

Alone and helpless, she had a foolish thought: "Will anyone ever show me mercy?"

Yes—there was one. The eunuch commander who she had never seen as a man.

When Grey Worm learned that his personal healer had been violated, his fury knew no bounds. He led the entire Unsullied fleet and charged at the Golden Company with overwhelming momentum.

He wasn't looking for explanations. He wanted Kerry dead.

Kerry was stunned when he heard this. He hadn't expected the eunuch commander to start a war over a mere handmaiden.

But he was unafraid. He had the queen's backing—at least, so he believed. And besides, the Golden Company's apparent strength was in no way inferior to the Unsullied.

Dragging the tear-streaked Missandei onto the deck, Kerry came face-to-face with Grey Worm.

Her pitiful expression tore at Grey Worm's heart. Like an avenger, he shouted with righteous fury:

"Let the girl go!"

Feigning ignorance, Kerry forced a smile and replied, "Commander of the Unsullied, we serve the same king. May I ask what brings you here in such anger?"

Grey Worm despised two-faced flattery. He warned again in a deep, menacing voice:

"Let the girl go, or I'll send you to hell."

Seeing no room for compromise, Kerry's smile vanished, replaced by a hint of cold steel.

"Grey Worm, I respect your bravery. But your behavior is unreasonable! Is it worth ruining the peace between our two armies over a mere handmaid?"

"Hmph! A mere handmaid? I'll have you know—she is a free woman, the queen's translator and scribe, and my personal healer by royal decree! Have you considered the consequences of your actions!?"

As his voice fell, every Unsullied soldier raised their spears and slammed them to the deck.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

It was how the Unsullied expressed their rage—and the signal that they were ready to fight.

A cloaked figure, who had been hiding nearby, quickly emerged and whispered into Kerry's ear,

"For the sake of our grand cause, this matter mustn't escalate. Let him have the girl."

Kerry wasn't blind to the bigger picture. If Grey Worm had approached him calmly, he would have returned Missandei long ago. But now the entire fleet knew—and if he gave in, what would become of his authority?

The Dothraki were a warrior race who reveled in bloodshed. They took no sides and now stood back, arms crossed, eager to watch the fight unfold—and cheer for whichever side proved more ruthless.

Daenerys, ever observant, had long noticed Missandei's affection for her husband. She had wanted to punish the little tramp—but never expected that eunuch Grey Worm would dare step forward for her.

The queen frowned darkly:

"Could the rumors be true? Has Grey Worm fallen in love with that little hussy?"

A eunuch in love with a woman? Ew…

A chill ran down her spine, and she shivered.

The clashing cries of the Unsullied's spear-strikes and the Golden Company's answering war drums echoed across the sea—a direct challenge to the Dragon Queen's authority.

With Drogo away, Daenerys was the fleet's sole commander. Grey Worm had dared to act without informing her. How could she not be enraged?

If this continued, it would lead to civil war. She had no choice but to intervene.

To impose her will with force, the Mother of Dragons climbed once more onto Rhaegal's back and soared between the two armies, radiating an aura of absolute dominion.
