"Sheriff, I'm lost. Do you know where my mom went?"
Amidst the constant explosions on the street, a little girl with big eyes and short white hair tugged on the arm of a Peacekeeper holding an implanted machine gun, her eyes brimming with tears, speaking in a worried tone.
The little girl was also holding a toy bird in her hand, the bird had a scissor-like tail.
The fierce Peacekeeper glanced down at her, his cold gaze softening a bit.
"It's not safe here, go somewhere else."
"But, uncle, I don't know where to go."
"Then hide in the car for now, be smart, don't provoke those bad guys in the car."
"Thank you, uncle. Could you take me there?" The little girl reluctantly held onto the Sheriff's big hand.
The Sheriff scanned the area, confirming there was no danger around, sighed, "Alright, running into you today is my bad luck."
"That's not true; mom said anyone who meets Yanyan is very lucky."
So, the Sheriff shook his head and led her toward a modified police car.
