Aurelia checked everything over once and didn't find any listening devices.
She lightly tapped the stud on her earring.
After a moment, Hadrian Turner's voice came through: "Aurelia! Are you—you okay? I suddenly couldn't get in touch with you, and a ton of stuff about you exploded online. Where are you now? You've already been released, right? There shouldn't be anything else, right? What about Mr. Nightshade? Is he with you?"
Hadrian Turner's questions came one after another, and Aurelia suddenly didn't know which one she should answer.
So she simply didn't answer any of them.
She went straight to asking Hadrian the thing she'd been thinking about. "Can you see what's going on over on Mason Nightshade's side?"
"You're not with Mr. Nightshade?"
Hadrian sounded a bit surprised.
Right after, Aurelia heard the sound of keys clacking on his end.
