Alaric Wood didn't see that kind of look directed at himself from Aurelia Shaw.
Even though she was obviously scared, she kept talking to him while pretending to be fearless and tough.
A few days passed calmly like this, and Alaric eventually became the next test subject. They took him away, and when he returned, he was covered in needle marks and knife scars.
"Why are you crying?"
"I'm not crying." Aurelia Shaw wiped away her tears with her sleeve, "Does it hurt?"
"What's there to hurt? I've experienced worse; this is nothing to me."
"You're lying. The cuts are so deep, how can it not hurt?"
"In the past, during winter, I begged in a restaurant. A hot-tempered person kicked me in the chest, and the bruises took months to heal. I was unconscious for three days and almost died. If I survived that, why would I be afraid of these little wounds? You're such a pampered lady, so fragile."
"Liar!"
"Fine, don't believe me then."
