Eliza's eyes were full of excitement; she couldn't believe Jennifer, who had been asleep for five hundred years, had awakened.
"Yes, I have already awakened."
The voice continued, albeit sounding somewhat old.
"None of you need to kneel anymore. Come with me and dig out grandmother."
Eliza quickly led numerous vampires toward the woods behind them. In that lush Maple Forest was a cemetery filled with graves. Each grave had a coffin; these vampires usually didn't live in villas but stayed in coffins.
During the day, they slept in the coffins of the graves.
At night, they would awaken like ordinary humans, roaming bustling streets or attending various gatherings.
Of course, some vampires in these graves were in a long slumber.
Beneath the most central grave, ten meters deep, lay the place where the vampire Empress Jennifer had been sleeping.
Jennifer had been asleep there for five hundred years.
