At the foot of the mountain, a few miles away, Lu Feng had just stopped the car and saw two small thugs lying by the roadside.
The one bitten by the snake was already dead from the poison, and the other, having the poison in his mouth, was unconscious, barely alive and unable to move.
Upon realizing something had gone wrong up the mountain, Lu Feng's face changed dramatically, and he hurried up without caring for the two men.
After about twenty minutes, he arrived at the dilapidated shack, the basement door kicked to pieces, with no one around.
Lu Feng's heart sank. He saw traces of trampled grass behind the house and wanted to follow them when he heard the sound of a motorcycle horn from down the hill.
This was the signal from his accomplices.
Lu Feng turned back down the hill and quickly met up with the policeman who had come to inform him.
"The woman is in the town, I caught her," he said.
Lu Feng asked, "What about the kid?"
"I looked, couldn't find him."
