The grandfathers are well-connected; they know the heads of several surrounding families. Du Xixi thought it would be best to take the child home first and let the grandfathers recognize which family the child belongs to.
Only then did the little boy nod, his expression no longer sad though hardly happy.
Du Xixi sighed inwardly. With a backpack full of toys, it wasn't convenient for her to bend down and pick up the little boy, so she took his hand, and together, a big one and a small one, they walked in the direction of the Du Family home.
When Du Xixi returned to the Du Family home and took the little boy to find the granduncle, he was leisurely sitting in the yard with a cup of tea, enjoying the view. Although Du Xixi couldn't understand what was so interesting about the bare lawn without flowers, she sensibly chose not to ruin the mood and instead greeted the granduncle warmly, "Granduncle, I'm back!"
