"Ophidia."
Herbert abruptly interrupted Ophidia's words.
"Do you think this will make me back down? How lightly do you regard my determination?"
At this moment, his expression calmed down, no longer angry or anxious.
"Won't you try trusting me for once?"
Herbert looked at Ophidia and said softly, "Set aside your doubts and choose to trust me. I promise I won't disappoint you."
"What will it take for you to trust me?"
"Do you need me to sign a contract? Or make a vow? Or do you need to confront my soul to know whether I am truthful?"
He spoke the words once uttered before Ophidia, once again revealing a bleak smile.
"Is there really no hope at all?"
Perhaps having heard such words before, Ophidia's heart shook fiercely after listening.
She felt... as if she had heard these words somewhere before!!?
It really seemed as Herbert said, she had known him, heard these words, but ultimately, she had forgotten these like a heartless person.
