Chapter 181 - Brick by Brick, Dream by Dream

Scene One

Morning at the Construction Site – A Living Blueprint

The sun rose gently over Islamabad, casting long shadows over the expanding grounds of Amana Mall. Where there had once been open space, now stood scaffolding, cranes, steel frames, and a rhythm of purposeful noise. The air smelled of cement, iron, and fresh beginnings.

Imran stood near the site office, helmet on his head, holding the large design map rolled under his arm. Engineers, supervisors, and laborers moved around him with practiced coordination.

"Yahan extension wing ka column thora sa left shift hoga," Imran said, pointing at the blueprint. "Parking ramp ke alignment ke liye zaroori hai."

The site engineer nodded.

"Ji sir, hum design ke mutabiq hi kaam kar rahe hain. Har cheez map ke mutabiq."

Imran walked slowly across the site, his eyes scanning every detail—the depth of foundations, the alignment of beams, the quality of material. He stopped beside a group of workers pouring concrete.

"Mixture theek hai?" he asked.

"Bilkul theek, sir," one worker replied respectfully. "Quality compromise nahi kar rahe."

Imran gave a small nod of satisfaction.

"Amana Mall sirf imarat nahi… amanat hai," he said quietly.

Scene Two

Rimsha's Visit – Silent Observation

Late morning, Rimsha arrived at the site. She wore simple clothes, her dupatta secured neatly, a helmet placed over her head by the safety officer.

Imran noticed her immediately.

"Aaj phir inspection?" he asked with a half-smile.

Rimsha smiled back.

"Inspection nahi… yaqeen."

She walked beside him, watching the cranes lifting steel beams, workers fixing frames, supervisors checking measurements. She didn't interrupt much—she observed.

"This pace is impressive," she said after a while. "Timeline realistic lag raha hai."

Imran looked at her proudly.

"Hum design map se aik inch bhi idhar udhar nahi ja rahe. Aur team motivated hai."

Rimsha stopped near the future entrance of the new wing.

"Yahan family zone hoga," she said softly, imagining children running, laughter echoing.

Imran nodded.

"Aur yahan rooftop food court… shaam ke waqt shehar ka view."

Rimsha smiled.

"Sirf business nahi… zindagi ka hissa ban raha hai."

As she turned to leave, she added,

"Kaam tez hai, lekin safety aur quality par compromise nahi hona chahiye."

Imran replied firmly,

"Yeh meri pehli priority hai."

Scene Three

Days Passing – Rhythm of Progress

Days turned into weeks.

Every morning, the sound of drills, cranes, and hammering filled the air around Amana Mall. Pillars rose. Floors took shape. Walls slowly defined spaces that were once only lines on paper.

Imran was present almost every day—sometimes early morning, sometimes late evening. He checked reports, signed approvals, corrected alignments.

Rimsha visited frequently too—sometimes alone, sometimes with Maryam. She spoke to supervisors, encouraged workers, and ensured facilities like clean drinking water and rest areas were maintained.

One afternoon, Maryam said quietly,

"Tum dono is project ko apni family ki tarah sambhal rahe ho."

Rimsha smiled.

"Kyunkay yeh family ka hi extension hai."

Scene Four

Evening at Home – A Proud Announcement

That night, the family gathered around the dining table. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the house. Kulsoom aunty sat at her usual place, Fatima in her high chair, happily tapping her spoon against the table.

Imran looked unusually relaxed.

Rimsha noticed.

"Aaj kuch kehna hai?" she asked lightly.

Imran cleared his throat, a proud smile spreading across his face.

"Aaj site engineers aur planners ke saath meeting thi," he said. "Aur mujhe yeh batate hue khushi ho rahi hai ke Amana Mall ki construction six months ke andar complete ho jayegi—bilkul timeline ke mutabiq."

There was a brief silence.

Then Rimsha smiled widely.

"Main bhi yahi kehna chahti thi," she said. "Maine khud dekha hai… kaam expected se tez chal raha hai."

Kulsoom aunty's face lit up with genuine delight.

"Allah ka shukar," she said, raising her hands slightly. "Tum dono ki mehnat rang la rahi hai."

Fatima, unaware of the weight of the conversation, laughed suddenly.

"Chicken!" she announced proudly, pointing at her plate.

Everyone smiled.

Imran chuckled.

"Dekho, Fatima ko sirf dinner ki fikr hai."

Kulsoom aunty leaned toward her granddaughter.

"Beta, jab tum badi ho jaogi na, tum bhi samjho gi ke yeh sab kya hai."

Fatima nodded seriously, then took another bite.

Scene Five

Quiet Pride – Husband and Wife

After dinner, Rimsha stood at the kitchen counter, putting away dishes. Imran joined her, leaning lightly against the counter.

"Tumhe yaad hai," he said softly, "jab hum sirf superstore chalate thay?"

Rimsha smiled faintly.

"Haan… aur raat ko thak kar gir jate thay."

Imran looked thoughtful.

"Aaj jab main construction site dekhta hoon, mujhe sirf imarat nahi dikhti… mujhe tumhari himmat, Maryam ka support, Ammi ki duaein… sab nazar aata hai."

Rimsha turned to him.

"Yeh sab tum akelay nahi kar rahe, Imran. Tum sirf lead kar rahe ho."

They shared a quiet moment—no words needed.

Scene Six

Kulsoom Aunty's Silent Gratitude

Later that night, Kulsoom aunty sat alone in her room, tasbeeh in her hand. She whispered softly,

"Ya Allah… mere shohar ka khwab tum ne in bachon ke haathon poora kar diya."

She closed her eyes, a peaceful smile on her lips.

In the next room, Fatima slept soundly, clutching her toy. Outside, the distant lights of the construction site glowed faintly against the night sky.

Closing Scene

A Future Taking Shape

Day by day, Amana Mall was rising—not rushed, not careless, but steady and strong. Designed carefully, built honestly, watched over lovingly.

Imran followed the map with discipline.

Rimsha followed the work with vision.

Kulsoom aunty followed the journey with gratitude.

And little Fatima simply enjoyed her meals, laughter echoing through the home.

Six months felt close now—not just as a deadline, but as a promise.

A promise that dreams, when built brick by brick with sincerity, always stand tall.
