Chapter 115 - Pre-Marriage Preparations Begin

Scene 1: Morning Planning at Maryam's Home

The morning sunlight poured gently through the windows of Maryam's living room. Maryam sat on the sofa, a notepad and pen in hand, while Haroon enjoyed his morning tea. Rimsha, cheerful and excited, was pacing around the room with a stack of wedding magazines. Ubaid and Irfan were playing with their toy cars near the rug, occasionally peeking at the adults as if trying to understand what all the fuss was about.

Maryam looked up at Rimsha with a warm smile. "Rimsha, let's start with the invitations. We need to finalize the design first. Do you want something traditional or modern?"

Rimsha's eyes sparkled. "A mix of both, Aapi. Maybe golden borders with a soft pastel background. And some floral patterns to make it elegant but not too flashy."

Haroon sipped his tea and added, "I can take care of printing. Just give me the final design. I'll also coordinate with the guests' list."

Maryam nodded and jotted down notes. "Perfect. And now, the dresses. We need to select colors for your functions."

Rimsha twirled in the living room. "For Mehandi, I was thinking yellow. Something bright and cheerful. For Nikah, traditional red, and for Valima, a calm sky-blue."

Maryam smiled. "I like it. And Imran's outfits?"

Rimsha glanced at Haroon and Maryam. "White for Mehandi, golden and maroon for Nikah, and a classic coat-and-pant for Valima."

Haroon chuckled. "Sounds like we need to shop for three wardrobes for him, then!"

Rimsha laughed. "Yes, but he agreed, didn't he?"

Maryam placed a gentle hand on her sister's shoulder. "Rimsha, you know we'll help with everything. Today we will make a plan for shopping and menu preparations. Tomorrow we can look at the decoration options."

Scene 2: Invitation Card Discussion

Rimsha and Maryam sat side by side at the dining table, magazines, and design samples spread around them. Haroon leaned against the doorway, observing the sisters with a smile.

Rimsha held up a sample. "What do you think of this one, Aapi? Gold embossed borders with pastel pink flowers. It has a classy touch, and guests will notice the elegance immediately."

Maryam adjusted her glasses. "I love the elegance, but let's make sure the text is readable. We don't want it to be too fancy that no one can read the details."

Haroon, smirking, said, "I think readability is more important than beauty. But I trust you two will find the perfect balance."

Rimsha nodded. "Yes, we'll finalize it today. Once done, we can send it to the printer by tomorrow."

Maryam took her phone and started compiling the guest list. "I'll divide the list into family, close friends, and colleagues. Haroon, you'll review it later and add anyone we might have missed."

Haroon replied, "Of course. We'll make sure everyone important is invited."

Scene 3: Dress Shopping Discussion

After finalizing the invitations, Rimsha and Maryam moved on to the topic of wedding attire.

Rimsha said, "Aapi, for the Mehandi, I want something simple, light, but festive. Yellow with a little embroidery on the sleeves and hem."

Maryam nodded. "Yes, and we can add matching jewelry, but keep it minimal. You don't want to feel heavy during Mehandi."

Haroon smiled. "I can already imagine the pictures. Ubaid and Irfan will definitely want to dance with you during the ceremony."

Rimsha laughed. "They better behave! But yes, I want a fun, joyful atmosphere."

Maryam turned to Haroon. "For Imran, white with subtle embroidery for Mehandi. For Nikah, a golden and maroon sherwani, and for Valima, a formal cream coat with trousers."

Haroon nodded. "We should start arranging fittings soon. I'll talk to the tailor and fix the appointments. Rimsha, do you want to go shopping for accessories and shoes next week?"

Rimsha smiled. "Yes, definitely! I want everything ready before the winter ends."

Maryam added, "We should also start thinking about the menu for the functions. Guests always remember the food."

---

Scene 4: Menu Planning

The family sat together, discussing food and catering. Maryam suggested, "For Mehandi, we can have light traditional snacks—samosas, pakoras, and chaat items. Drinks like lemonade and soft drinks for children."

Rimsha nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, and I want a colorful dessert corner. Jalebis, gulab jamun, and some ice creams."

Haroon added, "For Nikah, a full dinner menu—biryani, kebabs, pulao, salads, and a special dessert for everyone. And for Valima, we can have continental and Pakistani dishes combined."

Maryam scribbled notes in her planner. "Perfect. I'll call the caterers tomorrow and finalize the quantities and prices. Rimsha, you can pick any special desserts you want."

Rimsha's eyes sparkled. "I'll do that, Aapi. I want everyone to enjoy the food."

Haroon laughed. "Just make sure there's enough for Ubaid and Irfan too—they'll want to taste everything."

Maryam smiled. "Of course. They are our little food critics. We can't forget them."

Scene 5: Pre-Function Shopping and Decoration Ideas

In the evening, the three of them—Maryam, Rimsha, and Haroon—decided to visit a few shopping centers to look at decoration options and pre-function shopping. They visited fabric stores for dress materials, jewelry shops for accessories, and event planners for decoration ideas.

Rimsha held a golden embroidered dupatta and twirled around. "Aapi, look at this! Perfect for Nikah."

Maryam examined it carefully. "Yes, it's beautiful, but let's also see a few more options. We'll choose the one that suits your height and style."

Haroon picked up a small sample of table decorations from the event planner. "We can use these for the dining tables. And some floral arrangements for the stage. Rimsha, what do you think?"

Rimsha clapped her hands. "Yes! That will look amazing with our wedding theme. I can already imagine the entire setup."

Maryam laughed softly. "You're more excited than anyone else."

Rimsha grinned. "Of course, Aapi! It's my wedding, and I want everything to be perfect. But having you and Haroon with me makes it even better."

Haroon put a hand on Rimsha's shoulder. "We are with you every step of the way, Rimsha. Don't worry about a single thing."

Scene 6: Evening Wrap-Up

After returning home, the three sat in the living room, sipping tea and discussing the day. Ubaid and Irfan were exhausted from playing all afternoon, but their eyes brightened when Rimsha waved at them.

Maryam said, "Tomorrow we will finalize the caterer and set up the first tailor appointment for both of you."

Rimsha smiled. "Yes, Aapi. I want to try the golden-red dress for Nikah first. And maybe the yellow for Mehandi too."

Haroon nodded. "Everything is falling into place. Slowly but surely, we are moving forward."

Maryam glanced at both of them. "Rimsha, Imran, you two just enjoy these moments. Don't stress. We'll handle the arrangements, and soon it will all be perfect."

Rimsha leaned back, exhausted but happy. "I can't wait. Thank you, Aapi, and thank you, Bhai. I feel so lucky to have you both."

Haroon smiled warmly. "We feel the same, Rimsha. You're our family, and nothing is more important than your happiness."

Maryam hugged her sister gently. "Yes, Rimsha. Together we'll make this the most memorable time of your life."

The evening faded with laughter, discussions, and excitement for the upcoming marriage ceremonies. The house was buzzing with energy, and the sisters shared a quiet understanding that this was the start of something beautiful.
