"He isn't going to let us off. He wants us dead. What are we supposed to do?"
"That brat... he actually wants to hurl us into the abyss."
"We can't just sit here and wait for the end. I assume none of you want to die? We have to fight back."
The men gathered in the room represented more than just one nation. These were the elites of several countries, brought together for an emergency summit to discuss the crisis posed by Jiang Chen.
"What if we offer him compensation?"
"Jiang Chen won't accept it. With his thirst for revenge, he likely won't be satisfied until we are all dead."
"Focus on how to deal with Jiang Chen instead."
"Exactly. Stop dreaming about him showing us any mercy. It's unrealistic."
"Then what is your solution? How do we deal with his Legendary Pokémon? Based on what we know, aside from Articuno and Zapdos, he also has a Mew."
At the mention of Mew, a collective shiver ran through the room. Mew was a Major Legendary Pokémon.
They couldn't fathom how he had managed to catch one. How could a Major Legendary Pokémon choose to follow a human? They were unaware that Mew's current strength was only at the level of a Tier 2 Legendary, still a long way from its full potential as a Major Legendary.
"To stand against him, we need at least one Major Legendary Pokémon on our side."
As soon as that was said, the room fell into a grim silence. If they had a Major Legendary, they wouldn't be sitting here with such long faces.
"South Korea happens to know the location of a Major Legendary Pokémon, but the creature refuses to listen to us," one of the South Korean officials admitted.
The eyes of several attendees lit up. South Korea was not far from Xia Country. If they could awaken that Major Legendary and lure it into Xia Country's territory, could Jiang Chen really afford to ignore it?
A Major Legendary Pokémon would be more than enough to give him a massive headache. He wouldn't have the time to hunt them down. At the very least, it would buy them time to survive the immediate crisis.
"Which Major Legendary is it?"
"The Colossal Pokémon, Regigigas."
The South Korean official spoke freely. Since they had no hope of capturing it themselves, they didn't mind sharing the information. They simply didn't have the qualifications to tame a Major Legendary. Even knowing where it slept, they hadn't dared to provoke Regigigas.
"Gentlemen, I have a plan," Jonathan said.
The others immediately turned toward Jonathan, the United States Congressman. "Jonathan, what are you thinking?"
"We use Regigigas. We lure the Colossal Pokémon into the borders of Xia Country. A fight will be inevitable. I don't believe for a second that Jiang Chen would ignore a Major Legendary Pokémon invading his home soil."
"Once they start fighting, we can sit back and reap the spoils. Perhaps we'll even find an opening to capture Regigigas. At the very least, it solves the crisis Jiang Chen has brought upon us."
Jonathan looked supremely confident. He was certain this plan would win the approval of the others.
"No! I object!"
The objection came from the South Korean delegation. They were unwilling not out of concern for Xia Country, but because of the inherent danger.
Regigigas didn't belong to them, but waking it up was a recipe for disaster. Luring it all the way to Xia Country was incredibly risky. How much destruction would Regigigas cause along the way?
With the power Regigigas possessed, would South Korea even still exist when the dust settled?
They had to oppose it. This plan completely sacrificed South Korean interests.
However, aside from South Korea, every other nation raised their hands in support. They had no reason to refuse; for them, this was the optimal choice, especially since they wouldn't suffer any losses.
With everyone else in agreement, the South Korean protest was useless. The minority had to yield to the majority. Furthermore, South Korea wasn't a world power; they were essentially acting as lackeys for the stronger nations and had no real power to resist.
The South Korean official who had blurted out Regigigas's location now wanted to slap himself. Why did he have to talk so much? Now, he might end up dragging his own country down with him.
"Luring Regigigas to Xia Country is the key. Who will take on this mission?"
This was a critical question. Moving Regigigas wouldn't be easy. First, the raw power of a Legendary Pokémon could not be ignored. Second, to get it to Xia Country and force a confrontation, they would have to enrage it.
Enraging a Regigigas and then successfully leading it to Xia Country? That was a task even a Champion might find impossible. One wrong move and they would be dead.
When it came time to assign the task, no one wanted to step forward. No one wanted to be the first bird shot from the sky.
After a discussion between the Western nations, it was announced that every country had to contribute personnel. This was a moment of life and death, and they expected no one to hold them back.
Under the pressure of the Western nations, the South Koreans finally revealed Regigigas's exact location: a cave within South Korea. They had discovered it by accident, but seeing that Regigigas was in a deep sleep, they had never dared to disturb it.
"When do we act?"
"Immediately. We don't have much time left. We must start now. If we're too late, we might as well be picking out our own coffins."
Their efficiency was high. Personnel were dispatched immediately to the cave.
The entrance to the cave wasn't particularly large, but the interior was spacious and bright. There, the Colossal Pokémon, Regigigas, lay in slumber.
It had a massive white torso without a distinct head. Down the center of its body, from back to front, were yellow strip-like structures featuring seven circular holes arranged in the pattern of the Big Dipper. On either side of its torso were three pairs of eyes, currently looking like extinguished lamps.
The eyes were dark, indicating that Regigigas was in a deep sleep. Even the entry of the humans had not disturbed its rest. As long as there wasn't a massive commotion or a power that threatened it, Regigigas likely wouldn't wake up easily.
"Since it's sleeping, why don't we take this chance to transport it directly to the Stinky Country? We can wake it up once we've dumped it there," suggested Aldrich, the United States Champion.
Waking it here was far too dangerous. None of them had truly witnessed the power of a Major Legendary Pokémon. The only records came from two hundred years ago, and those terrifying descriptions were enough to keep them from provoking one.
For comparison, Articuno and Zapdos were only Tier 3 Legendaries, yet they could easily destroy cities. How powerful would a Major Legendary be? The contrast was terrifying.
"Good idea. That way, we don't bear the risk."
The others agreed with Aldrich. Even the South Koreans breathed a sigh of relief; they had no desire to see Regigigas wake up on their soil.
"But how do we move it?"
"Leave it to my Garchomp." Aldrich released his Garchomp.
No matter how heavy Regigigas was, a Champion-level Garchomp was capable of carrying it away.
"We'll release our Pokémon to help as well."
The group quickly brought out their own Pokémon. However, the moment the spirits emerged, they hesitated. They stared at Regigigas with visible dread, seemingly terrified.
Regigigas was a Major Legendary. It exuded an innate pressure, a crushing aura that ordinary Pokémon simply couldn't withstand. Even Aldrich's Garchomp was unwilling to get close to it.
"Garchomp, I order you! Take Regigigas away!"
Left with no choice, Aldrich barked a command. It was just a sleeping Major Legendary; what was there to be afraid of?
He thought this only because he didn't truly understand how terrifying a Major Legendary could be. Pokémon were far more sensitive to danger, which explained their reaction.
Under Aldrich's direct order, Garchomp approached Regigigas, its legs trembling slightly. Just as it was about to touch the giant, the ground gave a sudden, violent shudder.
Then, they watched as the lights that served as Regigigas's eyes began to glow. The body that had been standing perfectly still for ages suddenly moved.
