It had been two full days since the squad's last heavy training session, and Broadfield Stadium was already buzzing with anticipation.
With the season opener now just a few days away, his chest felt tight with a familiar blend of sharp focus and pre-game nerves.
The first game was still days away, but the competitive tension among the players was already impossible to ignore.
Looking out across the grass, he watched the guys getting loose. Max Simons was pacing around like he was ready to put the ball in the back of the net right then and there. Thiago was constantly bouncing on his toes, looking fast even standing still, while Dev Patel just wore a quiet, confident smirk.
They didn't need any big motivational speeches today. They were just a team finally ready to be turned loose on the pitch.
