Night falls violently on Edenfall. Akihiko, Lirea, and Yoru traverse a devastated area known as the Red Chains Cemetery , a former execution ground for traitorous mobsters. Metallic rain falls from the sky, remnants of ancient weapons still raining down as punishment for a forgotten war. Every step echoes with hatred.
II. Echoes of Dead Steel
The chains hanging from rusted stakes begin to move on their own, vibrating with an ancient murmur. Lirea notices that each chain is engraved with the name of a condemned soul. Yoru finds his own. He doesn't understand how, but his name is there. Touching it, a vision from the past strikes him: a version of himself betraying Akihiko in an alternate timeline.
III. The Court of Echoes
The trio is surrounded by incorporeal figures: specters of executed former mobsters. They call themselves the Court of Echoes , guardians of the criminal balance. Their leader, Morgrel , was the executioner of traitorous mafias. He demands they justify their presence in this cursed sanctuary.
IV. The Test of Internal Judgment
To advance, they must overcome individual tests of inner judgment. Akihiko relives the moment he nearly eliminated Lirea on the orders of a former leader. Yoru is confronted by versions of himself who chose ambition over loyalty. Lirea witnesses her mother being executed for attempting redemption. Each must accept that their strength was born from unresolved pain.
V. The Battle of Fragmented Oblivion
Refusing to abandon the mission, Morgrel unleashes his combat form: he embodies the forgotten sins of all who walk upon Edenfall. His living chains attempt to erase the memories of those they touch. Akihiko activates his Void to seal his mind, while Yoru invokes a new arte: the Silent Blood Flame , a fire that consumes memories without erasing their meaning.
VI. Chain against Chain
Lirea channels her power into a spear made of broken chains: the Pillar of Redemption . The battle becomes symbolic. Morgrel tries to break them from within, but the trio responds in unison, linking their attacks and memories together.
VII. The Closure of the Cemetery
With a combined attack, the three create a prison of light and emptiness that envelops Morgrel. The executioner slowly dissolves, releasing screams unheard for centuries. The chains of the cemetery fall away, one by one, like tears of rusted metal.
VIII. The Crypt of Reverse Lament
Among the wreckage, they find a secret entrance: the Crypt of Reverse Lament , where the mafias sealed their deepest secrets. Inside, they discover documents from an even older mafia: the Shadow of Eidolon , unknown even to the records of the Blood Archive.
IX. Omens of the Submerged Lineage
The writings speak of a hidden mafia lineage, capable of manipulating the memories of entire masses. One symbol appears in all the documents: a closed eye entwined in broken chains. Lirea recognizes it. It's the same symbol her mother wore.
X. The Last Unbroken Chain
The chapter closes with the sound of a single chain still hanging. When Akihiko touches it, a voice whispers to him: "The last chain holds the truth of your birth."
