"Mrs. Leah!" Ivy cried out, rushing to the bars and clutching them so tightly her face was pressed against the metal. "Please, help me out too!"
Leah's expression hardened into a mask of ice as she stormed over. "I should help you?"
As Leah spun around to leave, Ivy's voice echoed from the next cell.
Ivy nodded frantically. "Yes! I'm innocent in all this!"
Leah spun around, noticing Ivy wasn't alone in the cell. Ivy was locked up with seven young ladies whom she recognized few.
"If you had kept your big mouth shut and denied everything, you wouldn't be in this situation." Leah rebuked, her tone sharp. "You wouldn't have worsened it for everyone. Now you dare ask for my help after betraying my daughter? Your best friend?"
Their voices were so low and discrete that the police across the room could barely hear them, but the venom was clear.
