"Also, if you're still upset that Zane has to stop your job because of our little misunderstanding, I apologize," Maura added, knowing deep down it wasn't genuine remorse. It was a façade meant to clear Zane's doubt and disappointment in her.
Zane could be aloof, and Maura was aware he hated such indecency.
"It has nothing to do with you," Selina corrected flatly as she wasn't naïve about Maura's intention.
"Does that mean you're not holding grudges against me? Against both of us?" Maura asked, causing Selina's brows to narrow at such audacity to ask her that.
She tilted her head to the side, watching quietly as Maura stretched out a glass of drink.
"If you've forgiven us, Selina, you should accept this drink and return to Zane. Only then do I know you're not angry at us." Maura's lips twitched into a cunning smile, trying to ignite more pain. Especially on Zane's side to see that Selina was clearly done with him.
