Lucifer analyzed Daytona's body. He realized that her physique was extremely different from that of a normal human. He knew there was something abnormal about her.
— What is your name, girl? — Lucifer asked calmly.
— Ha– Hallara… Hallara Daytona. — Daytona answered tensely, stuttering.
— What are you doing here? How did you get here? Did you come with a demon? — Lucifer asked, curious and intrigued.
Daytona tightly gripped her Kōken and thought to herself.
— What if… I try to convince him to be on our side to defeat Raydillon? He's a demon, so I think he might accept—
Daytona calmed herself and sheathed her Kōken, intending to make a peaceful deal.
— I have a proposal for you. — Daytona said.
Lucifer became interested.
— How about you join us to defeat Raydillon? It would be a great chance for revenge for you. — Daytona asked confidently.
— Girl… if I could, I would have done that a long time ago. — Lucifer replied seriously, walking in the opposite direction.
Daytona took a deep breath and tried again.
— Look… I know it's a lot to ask, but we're already making some progress.
Lucifer stopped and turned toward her.
— What do you mean by "some progress"? — Lucifer grew more serious.
Daytona spoke while looking straight at him.
— We've been collecting the blood of each Capital Sin, and—
— Wait. Are you the ones eliminating the Seven Capital Sins one by one? — Lucifer sounded enraged, though he tried to remain calm.
Daytona swallowed hard, realizing the mistake she had made.
— Uh… it's just to collect the blood…
— Eliminating them? Is that it? — Lucifer walked toward Daytona.
Daytona pulled her Kōken from its sheath and prepared herself, realizing how badly she had messed up.
Lucifer dashed toward her at light speed and attempted to strike the left side of Daytona's head. She managed to block it with Akakagami, but was thrown violently against a massive pillar.
Lucifer followed up with another strike, but Daytona dodged to the side. Lucifer's blow hit the pillar instead, causing it to collapse instantly.
Daytona realized the fight had begun.
Lucifer looked at Daytona on the ground — she had fallen while dodging — and acted immediately.
— Kami no Sōzō, First Element, Law of Return.
Lucifer invoked an ability that summoned infinite chains (with unlimited range), each ending in a spear that homed in on its target. The chain reached Daytona and pierced straight through her abdomen, yet somehow caused no wound at all.
Lucifer's magic latched onto Daytona. As the chain retracted back toward Lucifer, Daytona was dragged along with it. When she got close enough, Lucifer struck her abdomen with such overwhelming force that a shockwave rippled through the entire area.
Daytona was hurled several kilometers away, crashing through pillars, abandoned structures, burned vehicles, and walls until she finally stopped.
Daytona stood up, coughing blood.
— The strongest punch I've ever taken in my life… damn, it hurts… I can't stop now!
Lucifer, already near her again, walked slowly toward her.
— You'll pay dearly for this, girl…
Daytona stood up and prepared herself.
— Köken Akakagami, Second Element, Vacuum Point!
Daytona charged at Lucifer with her Second Element, but suddenly Lucifer created a purple sword that blocked her strike. He followed up with a kick to the right side of her abdomen, sending her flying into a nearby pillar.
Daytona realized she wouldn't be able to withstand this alone for long, so she decided to activate the Mark of the Beast.
— Belzebub! Are you there!? — Daytona spoke in her mind, waiting for an answer.
— What is it? — Belzebub replied in her mind.
— I need the Mark of the Beast, now! It's urgent! — Daytona said, almost desperate.
Belzebub remained silent. But the Mark of the Beast was already beginning to appear on Daytona's face, aware that the request had been made.
Daytona stood up and truly prepared herself. Lucifer was impressed that she dared to face the most powerful demon in history.
(In the Ring of Wrath…)
Martin was still nervous, facing Satan head-on, completely without support.
Satan looked at Martin with his usual smile.
— It's fun fighting someone relatively strong. It's been MANY years since I've seen someone like that… though most of them die, haha! Anyway, forget that.
Martin began to think Satan was an idiot, since he talked to himself sometimes.
— You're really taking this as a joke? What a pain in the ass. — Martin mocked him.
Martin gathered his courage and prepared himself.
— Kyūkyoku no Ningen, Second Element, Colossal!
Martin charged at Satan with full force, intending to strike his face.
Satan reacted in time and caught Martin's head with one hand before the blow could land.
— Okay, I didn't see that coming… — Martin thought to himself.
Satan grabbed Martin's head, slammed it into the ground, and pinned it there with his hand. Suddenly, he summoned two black wings, then began dragging Martin's head across the ground for several meters before throwing him far away.
— Yeah… he's definitely playing with me. — Martin thought as he stood up, wiping the blood running from his nose.
— I don't stand a chance against him. All I can do is hold him off until the others arrive! — Martin reflected.
Martin knelt down. Satan prepared to counter, but—
Martin suddenly jumped backward, trying to put as much distance between them as possible.
Satan looked confused for a moment, then acted quickly.
— Boy, do you think I'm a Capital Sin for nothing? — Satan said calmly.
Satan smiled widely.
— Meikai no Akuma, Second Element, Transcend.
In the blink of an eye, Satan teleported Martin directly in front of him. This ability caused Martin unbearable pain, as it was based on Pain and Suffering.
Satan approached Martin and grabbed him by the neck.
— You wanted to fly, didn't you? Let's see if you know how! —
Satan threw Martin away, but then realized he had thrown him too far.
— Tsc Ohhh, damn it… — Satan muttered as he walked after him.
(Meanwhile…)
Saravia was running quickly through the Ring of Lust, still searching for the passage that would take her through the Rings of Sloth, Envy, Gluttony, and finally to Wrath.
Along the way, she ran into Nylon, who was also running.
— Hey! Nylon! — she shouted, calling out to him.
He heard her and turned around, walking toward her.
— Saravia! Are you okay? — he asked.
— Yes, everything's fine. I managed to defeat Asmodeus in a "good" way. — Saravia said, smiling.
Then she asked:
— Did you collect Mammon's blood?
Nylon confirmed that he had, and Saravia nodded.
The two ran quickly through the Ring of Lust, searching for the spiral staircase that led to the other Rings.
Nylon moved through the City of Lust like a shadow, while Saravia traveled above, leaping across rooftops.
Along the way, Saravia spotted a plaza with a staircase blocked by multiple guards and armored vehicles.
Saravia descended to the ground, keeping some distance. Nylon stayed beside her.
— Should we kill all of them to move forward? — Nylon asked.
— No. We'll just… get in there. — Saravia replied.
Nylon looked at her.
— And how do we pass without eliminating them?
Saravia looked at Nylon with a "are you serious?" expression.
— You're faster than light, and I can kick up dust to pass through. We won't have any trouble here.
— Alright then… — Nylon simply complied.
He dashed forward fast enough that no one could see him — only a sudden gust of wind.
— Okay… my turn now. — Saravia prepared herself.
She rushed toward the area at high speed and, with a very specific movement of her anchor, kicked up a cloud of dust and slipped past them unseen.
(In Heaven…)
Adam and Hawangard were together, waiting for Raydillon's orders and direction to begin their search for Raphaella.
Hawangard, a girl with the appearance of a teenager but an unnervingly wide smile, sat cross-legged on a stone slab in what looked like an abandoned museum. Her elbow rested on her knee, her face supported by her hand. Adam stood beside her.
The silence was absolute until the Cherubim of Time broke it.
— I honestly won't keep waiting here. — she said as she stood up.
— Where are you going? — Adam asked curiously.
— To Setealem. I'm bored. — Hawangard said, walking away without concern.
— Wait, what about Raydillon's orders? If you really go, you'll be responsible for whatever happens. — Adam said seriously.
— Eh, whatever. Just say that. If anything happens, call me there — I'll be in the Ring of Lust. — Hawangard replied casually.
— Just don't start a fight with a Capital Sin… — Adam added as a final request.
Hawangard ignored him, summoned a white portal, and stepped through it. Adam watched her leave and sighed, sensing she was about to cause trouble.
Ring of Lust.
Hawangard was teleported directly in front of a massive crater. She found it strange but decided to ignore it.
She used her teleportation ability to reach the main city, where there were police forces and protests. She found it odd but continued forward anyway.
Yellow tape covered holes in the streets, broken walls… and further ahead, a bar with its wall destroyed — yet people inside were acting as if nothing had happened.
Hawangard entered the establishment and was warmly greeted by demons she already knew. A bit further inside, she spotted him — Kruss.
— Good evening, anonymous sinner. — Hawangard said ironically as she sat down.
— Good evening, little angel. What brings you here? It's been a while. How are things in Heaven, in the Ring of Peace? — Kruss said while pouring wine for another customer.
— Everything's fine. Just a bit boring. Thought I'd have some fun somehow. — Hawangard said.
— Pour me a glass of that too. I'm dying of thirst.
— But answering your question… yes, I'm fine. And by the way… what's all this in the city? I saw a giant crater too. What happened?
Kruss turned to her, looking concerned.
— Well, not long ago — less than an hour — a girl arrived here. She was very strong. Suddenly, she picked a fight with Asmodeus, who was around here… and she ended up killing him.
Hawangard stared at Kruss, shocked and serious.
— Wait… that girl killed one of the Seven Kings?
— Yes. — Kruss confirmed. — But she didn't seem like a demon… she had no demonic traits, yet she carried an overwhelming energy. Almost like another Capital Sin — but far too human in appearance.
Hawangard listened carefully, sensing the information might be useful.
— Even with that energy, she didn't seem like a Capital Sin. Maybe just a very powerful "Adversary," or the daughter of some Goetia. — Kruss finished.
Hawangard seemed intrigued.
— Do you know where she went?
Kruss poured himself a glass of wine, sat beside her, and sighed.
— I don't know for sure, but I theorize she was heading toward the city center. So I think she went to another Ring.
Hawangard stood up.
— Alright. Thanks for everything. We'll see each other another day.
Kruss stood up, a bit worried, and grabbed her arm.
— Oh, wait… be careful with what you do around here. You're "harmless," but you're still terrifying just for being a Cherubim.
— I know what I'm doing. — Hawangard pulled free and left the bar.
(In the Ring of Pride…)
As Lucifer stared at Daytona, waiting for her first move, he felt the devastating energy of an extremely powerful being.
Lucifer looked at the ground, thinking to himself.
— A Cherubim here? What could they want? —
He seemed genuinely concerned, but decided to set it aside.
The true battle between Lucifer and Daytona would begin right there and then. While Martin held off Satan, Nylon and Saravia rushed toward the Ring of Wrath.
