Chapter 22 - The mall

The next day, we all gathered in my classroom, with four students huddled in the corner, their faces tense with anticipation.

"I'm looking forward to hearing your stories about camp when you get back," Mina said softly, her voice trembling as she wiped away a tear. I quickly pulled her into a comforting hug, trying to soothe her.

"It's okay. Maybe there'll be a surprise twist," I said, attempting to comfort her. "You know how Mr. Aizawa is about us fighting at 100% when he suspects there are stakes involved."

"Are you sure? Because what he said seemed pretty serious. He mentioned that anyone who fails the exam would have to attend summer school, and it looks like we both definitely failed," Kaminari added with a worried tone.

"He might be right. My team passed, but only because of the twins' quick thinking. I probably won't be going either," Sero said, a look of resignation on his face.

Suddenly, the door swung open sharply, and Mr. Aizawa entered, his usual intense expression fixed on us. "When the bell rings, you should be in your seats," he ordered curtly. Without hesitation, we all snapped to attention and quickly moved, almost as if we were teleporting to our desks.

"Unfortunately, some of you did not pass your final exams," he announced, a strange, almost amused smile flickering across his face—something unfamiliar, as if he wasn't used to showing emotion. "So, when it comes to the training camp, all of you will still be going," he added, his tone lighting up slightly with that odd grin.

"I told you there would be a twist," I said with a smirk, watching the four students celebrate quietly.

"The good news is, none of you failed the written portion of the exam, and only five of you failed the physical tests. The two teams, obviously, and Sero," he explained. "In fact, we left you a chance to win during the exam—a way to turn things around."

"But didn't you say the teachers wouldn't hold back?" Ojiro asked, frowning.

"I was allowed to keep you on edge. The training camp is designed to focus on improving your quirks, and those who don't meet the standards need those lessons more than ever. We weren't planning to separate you; that was just a logical assumption," he responded with that unsettling smile again, confirming to the class that he was lying once more.

"This is the second time you've lied to us. Aren't you worried we'll lose faith in you?" Lida challenged.

"He's going to have to lie to us eventually, because sometimes a lie is better than the truth. Even when we go after heroes, sometimes we'll have to fudge the details, like you know the incident, I said, watching him as he caught the message and sat back down.

"Thank you, Midoriya, but I wasn't lying about everything. Failure is failure. When we reach the camp, you five will undergo extra training—tougher than summer school by a mile," he said. Before I knew it, the day sped by, and everyone remained gathered in the classroom.

"I'm so excited we all get to go!" Ojiro exclaimed.

"Yeah, I need to grab some camping gear," I replied.

"I could use a bigger suitcase," Kaminari added.

"I've got an idea—how about we all go on a class mall trip?" I suggested. The next day, we met up at a sprawling outdoor mall with three stories.

"Alright, everyone know where you're headed!" I announced.

"Yeah!" they all chimed in.

"Let's split into groups of two or three so nobody gets left alone if something happens," I insisted, and they agreed.

My group consisted of Chaco and Momo, while the others dispersed into different areas.

"So, what do you need?" I asked.

"Some bug spray," Ochaco answered.

"Outdoor clothes," Momo added.

"Well, I need outdoor clothes and bug spray in a suitcase. Let's grab those first, then the others," I said. We quickly got everything we needed, until I noticed we were being followed—by a woman with striking blue hair. The area wasn't crowded, so I sat and waited as she approached.

"It's been a while, Shigaraki," I said coolly, eyeing the busty woman.

"Indeed, it has, Izuku-chan," she replied, tilting her head slightly, almost childlike, which earned me a glare.

"What are you doing here?" I demanded, standing up.

"Why, I just wanted to check up on you," she said playfully, a sly smile on her lips.

"I have a feeling I won't like your game. Just so you know, I have regeneration—so I can probably take you down before you even try to kill me," I warned, tensing for a fight.

"Overreacting? If I'd wanted to attack, I would've done it already, back when you were hanging around those fools. But I don't want to—at least not yet," she said, her eyes darkening.

"Then why are you here?" I pressed, noticing her ominous stare.

"It's simple. I came to see how powerful you've become. I'm impressed, but now's not the time. We'll meet again soon—very soon," she said, and a portal suddenly opened beneath her. She fell through, disappearing from sight.

I sat there, pondering my next move, when I heard a familiar voice.

"There you are, Deku! What are you doing out here?" Ochaco called.

"Just handling something. Did you find everything you wanted?" I asked. She nodded, and we headed back to shopping, her words echoing in my mind, fueling my excitement for what's to come.

(she's not acting like her usual self in the anime hated me while the original me so why is she acting different? It's almost like she became a yandere.) I said, joking me in my mind,

(wait no way she can actually be. I mean I did Flirt with her a little and I couldn't see her face so maybe she has a crush on me and it turned into love after seeing me in the sports festival. This is going to be another headache for me.) I said, as we continue, our mall trip.

Once we left, though I quickly went to the police station and will report what happened and they went and scared out. The mall includes. She might have left behind sooner after though all Might came to meet me.

" I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you." he said.

" it's fine I could handle myself besides this is what I'm supposed to do isn't it Fight villains?" I said, smirking as he gave me a fist bump. I went home wondering what I'm going to do next.
