They arrived at the Royal Capital of Asten right as the brightness of midday reddened into late afternoon. Even though messengers were usually sent ahead to inform the destination of their arrival, Silvan didn't have a messenger sent ahead to inform the castle of his visit. They weren't stopped at the gates despite this, as the guards were familiar with the crest of Vallyn.
Silvan got down from the carriage first, startling Graham, who had hurried out to receive their unexpected but very welcome visitors. "Your Highness! We weren't expecting you! I'll inform your father of this right away." He said energetically, signalling one of the attendants next to him, who hurriedly made themselves scarce.
It was strange to see Graham again, because while Silvan had always been distant from the Royal Castle, he still lived within its environs. It was strange to leave and come back months later, the nostalgia was unfamiliar, especially towards someone like Graham.
