Breakfast was a brief affair, Alessio hastily leading the way out. They ducked around a hallway at the same time that Queen Nadia called to them.
They had initially been walking side by side, but now Alessio took Silvan's hand and picked up the pace. "Run," He mouthed to the other.
Silvan thought it rather counterproductive to try to avoid the Vampire Queen with the ability to transport herself in the blink of an eye, but he kept it to himself, picking up the pace. When they arrived at the grand stairs of the castle, Nadia was already waiting for them, her black eyes bright as she tried to put on a stern expression.
"Mother," Alessio grimaced, "Did we keep you waiting long?" He tried buttering her up.
