"Quick, put your hand into the steering mechanism—close this!"
"Got it?"
"Okay!"
"This thing's meant for a big guy. We have to move in sync!"
"Okay! Done!"
"We'd better turn—turn! Turn!"
As the donut-shaped spacecraft drew closer and closer to Titan, Iron Man and the others descended into frantic, barely coordinated操作.
Unfortunately, none of them were Titans. No matter how much of a genius Iron Man was, there was no way he could master an alien craft like this in such a short time.
In the end, the donut ship slammed straight into Titan.
Boom!
Amid a thunderous roar, the spacecraft was smashed to pieces, breaking apart completely.
At the critical moment, Doctor Strange thrust both hands forward. A golden, magic-light "eggshell" instantly formed, enveloping everyone inside.
Coupled with the fact that Iron Man and Peter Parker were both wearing armor, the impact—though violent—didn't actually injure anyone.
"Are you okay?"
"That was way too close!"
Everyone hurriedly checked themselves. After confirming there were no injuries, they finally relaxed.
"I just want to say—if aliens planted eggs in my chest or something," Spider-Man said while hanging upside down and sliding over to Doctor Strange and Iron Man, "and I end up eating one of you, I'm really sorry."
"For the rest of the time, could you not use pop-culture references?" Iron Man said helplessly.
Kid, have some mercy on old people, will you?
Do you understand what a generation gap is?
"Fine, what I mean is—something's coming!" Spider-Man said more directly this time.
Everyone watching the screen felt an overwhelming sense of speechless disbelief.
So this is the world of young people?
So abstract.
Completely incomprehensible.
What does "aliens planting eggs in my chest" have anything to do with "something's coming"?
If Iron Man and Doctor Strange could understand that the first time, that'd be a miracle.
On the screen—
Right after Spider-Man finished speaking, a spherical object was suddenly thrown over. It rolled to a stop beside them.
Boom!
Before anyone could react, they were blown flying.
Anyone who had seen the footage knew immediately—this bomb was thrown by the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The Avengers had just arrived on Titan, and the other side welcomed them with a bomb. One had to admit, that was… enthusiastic hospitality.
Their first meeting could be described as nothing short of explosive.
That said, everyone could understand the Guardians' overreaction.
After all, the Avengers arrived on Ebony Maw's ship. Naturally, the Guardians mistook them for Thanos's people.
Sure enough—
After blasting Iron Man and the others away, the Guardians rushed out, fully armed and ready for combat.
"Thanos!"
Drax roared and hurled two "throwing knives" straight at Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange calmly raised a hand, forming a magical shield that instantly blocked the blades.
At the same time, his body flickered—and his cloak flew out, slamming Drax to the ground and wrapping around his head, temporarily immobilizing him.
While Drax attacked, Star-Lord made his move too. Wearing his jet boots, he zipped through the air, trading fire with Iron Man.
Both flew back and forth, exchanging shots with heavy weapons. The fight was intense.
They soon grappled at close range, and Star-Lord was thrown away by Iron Man.
But after stumbling to a stop, Star-Lord suddenly pulled out a device and pressed a switch.
A massive suction force instantly appeared on Iron Man's body, yanking him onto a piece of ship debris.
During their scuffle, Star-Lord had secretly slapped a magnetic device onto Iron Man's chest.
Just like that, Iron Man was temporarily restrained.
It had to be said—Star-Lord was genuinely formidable.
While Star-Lord fought Iron Man, Spider-Man attacked Mantis, quickly binding her with webbing.
The moment Star-Lord freed up his hands, he kicked Spider-Man flat onto the ground.
Chhh—chhh—chhh!
He then opened fire on Spider-Man, and the two officially clashed.
Before long, Spider-Man was subdued as well, bound tightly by a glowing energy rope.
"Who is this guy? He's amazing!"
On the viewing side, Peter Parker couldn't help but exclaim in awe.
This masked man had taken down both Iron Man—his idol—and himself in an incredibly short time.
And he looked relaxed doing it.
Based on earlier discussions… could this be Star-Lord?
No wonder he's the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Only one thing—if he were just a bit slimmer, he'd be perfect.
"Just caught us off guard. Trivial tricks," Tony Stark snorted dismissively.
On the screen—
After pinning Spider-Man down, Star-Lord flew over, grabbed him as a hostage, and pressed a gun to his head.
Iron Man, in response, flew over to Drax and took him hostage.
Perfect. One-for-one.
Each side now had a hostage.
"Everyone calm down!" Star-Lord shouted. "I'll ask this once—where is Gamora?!"
"I've got a better question—who the hell is Gamora?" Iron Man asked, completely confused.
"I've got an even better one—why is Gamora?"
Drax, pinned under Iron Man's foot, suddenly asked.
Yes.
Drax's brain really doesn't work very well.
"Tell me where she is, or I'll burn this little freak to a crisp!" Star-Lord threatened.
"Go ahead! You hurt my guy, I hurt your guy—let's do it!"
Iron Man wasn't backing down. His right hand formed a cannon as big as Drax's head.
Everyone watching felt secondhand disbelief.
Isn't that a bit much?
That cannon could wreck a tank—let alone a head.
"Do it, Quill! I can take it!" Drax roared heroically.
"No, you can't!" Mantis cried.
"She's right," Doctor Strange added solemnly.
"Oh, really? You won't tell me where she is?" Star-Lord snarled. "Fine. I'll kill all three of you, then beat Thanos until he talks—starting with you!"
He jammed the gun harder against Spider-Man's head.
"Wait—Thanos?" Doctor Strange blinked. "Alright, let me ask you something. Who do you serve?"
"Who do I serve? How should I answer—Jesus?" Star-Lord scoffed.
Iron Man immediately wore an expression of pure pain and resignation.
"You're from Earth!" Iron Man shouted.
"No, I'm not from Earth—I'm from Missouri!"
"Idiot, that is Earth! Then why are you fighting us?!"
"So… you're not working for Thanos?" Spider-Man asked.
"Working for Thanos? No! I'm here to kill him! He took my girl—wait… who are you people?"
Finally.
He asked the key question.
"We're the Avengers, man," Spider-Man answered.
"You're the people Thor talked about!" Mantis said suddenly.
"You know Thor?" Iron Man asked, surprised.
"Yeah. Tall guy. Not very good-looking. Needed rescuing," Star-Lord nodded.
The footage ended there.
"It seems we underestimated Star-Lord," Captain America said seriously.
Because of Star-Lord's goofy personality, everyone had subconsciously downplayed his strength.
They knew he could fight—but just "okay."
Yet on Titan, he'd actually suppressed Iron Man.
Even if he didn't seriously injure Tony, if the fight dragged on, who knew how it would've ended?
And remember—this was nanotech armor, strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Thanos.
Iron Man probably wouldn't lose—but beating Star-Lord wouldn't be easy either.
"So Star-Lord and Gamora were a couple?" Thor asked, clearly enjoying the gossip.
"That's unexpected."
"Unfortunately, he went looking for his girlfriend… but she was already killed by Thanos," Thor sighed.
On Titan, Thanos already had the Soul Stone.
And the Soul Stone was obtained by sacrificing Gamora.
Star-Lord just didn't know that yet.
"What puzzles me is—where was Nebula?" Tony Stark asked.
"She never showed up."
Nebula was definitely on Titan.
After Thanos's snap, only Nebula and Iron Man survived—and were stranded in space.
They would've died if Captain Marvel hadn't rescued them.
"Maybe she arrived on a different ship," Captain America speculated.
"Or maybe she had a separate mission."
The truth, however, remained unknown.
[Question:]
To resolve a tunnel-overload issue, Hope Pym purchases a high-tech component from black-market tech smuggler Sonny Burch. After the deal, she is attacked by Ghost, Ava.
Why did Ava attack her?
A. A black-on-black double-cross
B. She hates Hank Pym and wanted to assassinate Hope
C. She is an FBI agent arresting Hope Pym
D. She needs the high-tech component Hope acquired
[Hint:]
Correct answer → Reward skill: Green Vision
Wrong answer → Random penalty: loss of an attribute (knowledge, experience, skills, possessions, etc.)
The system prompt abruptly interrupted everyone's discussion.
A new question had appeared.
"This Sonny Burch—who is he?" Scott Lang asked first.
"And who's this Ghost, Ava?"
"Sonny Burch is exactly what the question says—a smuggler," Captain America explained.
"He deals in illegally obtained high-tech items and has connections within the FBI, CIA, and similar agencies. A real underworld middleman."
"Sounds like a real piece of work," T'Challa nodded.
He didn't like such people—especially since Burch reminded him of Klaue.
"So what about Ghost, Ava?" Peter Parker asked.
"She's called 'Ghost,' so… is she scary-looking?"
Everyone collectively facepalmed.
"Ghost" obviously didn't refer to her looks.
"Even if we don't know who she is," Scott Lang shrugged,
"anyone bold enough to use a name like Ghost isn't ordinary."
"Maybe it means she moves like a ghost—appears and disappears," Captain America guessed.
"One thing's certain," Tony Stark said firmly.
"She's not normal."
He continued his analysis:
"Hope Pym is Hank Pym's daughter. That means she probably has an Ant-Man suit—or something similar."
"Otherwise, Hank would never let her deal with someone that dangerous."
"Remember the zombie universe footage? Hope wore a more advanced suit than Scott's—with wings."
"Even if that was a different universe, the divergence was minimal. It's a valid reference."
"Exactly," Scott Lang nodded.
"There is another suit. Designed by Hope and Janet. Originally meant for Janet."
"After the accident, Hank planned to pass it on to Hope. It's not fully finished yet—but yeah."
"Hope will have a suit."
With Tony's deduction and Scott's confirmation, everyone accepted the idea.
"That's why Ghost isn't ordinary," Tony concluded.
"She dared to attack an enhanced individual."
Everyone agreed.
"So the real question is—why did Ghost attack Hope?" Captain America said, getting to the point.
"Scott, does Hank Pym have enemies?"
"Currently? Not that I know of," Scott replied.
"Back in the SHIELD days, he pissed off plenty of colleagues—but that hardly justifies targeting his daughter."
"So aside from old grudges, no real enemies?" T'Challa confirmed.
"Correct."
"That makes revenge unlikely," T'Challa said.
"And if it were revenge, Ghost wouldn't wait until after the deal to strike."
"That suggests the attack was tied to the transaction itself."
"Agreed," Captain America nodded.
"Option B can be ruled out."
Everyone agreed.
That left A, C, and D.
"What does 'black-on-black' mean?" Thor asked, genuinely confused.
Peter Parker happily explained.
"Oh, so it's just robbery?" Thor realized.
"Then did Ava rob Hope?"
"We don't have enough information yet," Scott shrugged.
"But wait," Peter suddenly said, pointing at the options.
"Isn't 'black-on-black' and 'she needed the component' basically the same thing?"
At first glance—yes.
But Tony Stark disagreed.
"They look similar, but the motives are completely different."
"Black-on-black is about money."
"Option D is about need, not profit."
"The difference is whether Ghost attacked Hope for money—or for something else."
Everyone fell into thought.
Would someone powerful enough to fight enhanced individuals really rob others for money?
That felt… beneath her.
Someone at that level could earn money far more easily.
Robbery seemed unlikely.
Which meant—
D was starting to look very convincing.
