Seeing Bai He's completely unconcerned expression.
Li Xun's smile didn't fade as the Water Chill Sword suddenly appeared in his hand, two red spirit rings materializing one after another beneath his feet.
The distance was sufficient now, and he had given enough chances out of respect for the Breaking Clan. It was time for this person to depart.
"Two hundred-thousand-year spirit rings!"
Bai He's eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets at the sight of the two red spirit rings beneath Li Xun's feet: "Impossible! Impossible, this is your second Martial Soul!!"
His heartbeat suddenly accelerated.
The Star Luo Empire had records of Li Xun's first seven spirit rings. Although only general analysis existed, they were absolutely nothing like this.
Recalling Tang San's Twin Spirits, Bai He immediately understood what kind of existence the long sword in Li Xun's hand represented.
No good, this information must be sent back immediately!
He also needed to raise this kid's assassination priority by two or three levels. As these thoughts flashed through Bai He's mind, a pair of wings extended from his back as he prepared to abandon his surveillance of Sword Douluo and return to Star Luo.
"Too late!"
Although the distance between Li Xun and Bai He was considerable, it was more than sufficient compared to his mental power.
A wave of mental energy suddenly enveloped Bai He as the first and second red spirit rings lit up in succession. Mental Lock and Positioning Tracking instantly took effect on Bai He.
Whoosh—
A sonic boom sounded as the Water Chill Sword shot toward Bai He with unstoppable speed, carrying along Li Xun who tightly gripped the hilt.
The speed was so astonishing that even Bai He and Li Xun himself were taken aback.
"Not good!" Bai He's heart trembled.
That Li Xun had already possessed the strength of a sixty-level Soul Emperor four years ago. Who knew how much he had improved over these four years.
Single-attribute clans focused on one aspect, and the Swift Clan emphasized speed, possessing virtually no combat capability themselves.
Bai He had no doubt that if Li Xun got close, he would definitely be the one to die.
"Spirit Avatar." Eight spirit rings appeared beneath Bai He's feet as the fifth to seventh rings lit up consecutively, instantly boosting his speed dramatically.
The Needletail Swift truly lived up to its reputation as the continent's top Speed Spirit. With the soul skill enhancement, it immediately created distance from Li Xun.
Li Xun had anticipated this situation. Applying force with his hand, he flipped mid-air and stepped onto the Water Chill Sword, using soul power to firmly adhere himself to the blade.
Flying with a Sword.
Feeling the wind howling past his ears, Li Xun's eyes shone brightly as heroic spirit surged in his chest, giving him an irresistible urge to roar.
His mental energy remained locked on Bai He at all times.
Although his Positioning Tracking didn't provide speed, it would persist as long as Bai He remained within his mental range.
And mental power was something he had in abundance: "Skydream, time to get to work."
Although Bai He was fast, it wasn't Teleportation. Now it was just a matter of how long his soul power and soul skills could last.
Commonly known as wearing down the old man.
Seeing the two racing away, Sword Douluo summoned his Seven Kill Sword and quickly followed.
Although Li Xun's soul power had reached level eighty-eight now, he wasn't a true Title Douluo yet. The Clear Sky Sect had numerous powerful experts including Super Douluos like Tang Xiao and Tang Ming.
He absolutely couldn't let Li Xun risk being surrounded and attacked.
The fierce wind howled, stinging their faces painfully.
Bai He glanced back and saw a dark figure steadily closing in on him: "How is this possible?"
With just one glance, his soul nearly fled in terror. The sixth and eighth spirit rings at his feet lit up, and his speed instantly surged to another level, steadily widening the distance.
Until the black shadow gradually shrank to a mere dot.
"I must return quickly to inform the sect leader—this young man's soul skills are far too bizarre." Bai He fixed his direction squarely on the Antonio Defense Line of the Star Luo Empire.
He raced onward without pause, and soon rows of military tents came into view—the very defense line situated two hundred li outside Antonio City.
By now, Bai He was panting heavily. Though still shaken, he felt considerably more at ease.
Once here, he was absolutely safe.
Yet, for some reason, he couldn't shake a prickling sensation on his back.
Instinctively, he glanced back and saw a black shadow hurtling toward him at breakneck speed.
"Impossible?!" Bai He exclaimed in shock.
This turn of events was entirely beyond his expectations.
He was the fastest on the continent! Though he had never raced against a level ninety-nine Peerless Douluo, Bai He believed he was not inferior.
How could he possibly be caught up by a mere youngster?
At this moment, the effects of his spirit rings had faded, and he was in that brief interval where old momentum waned but new force had yet to build. Though this gap was short and he still had some soul power left, an unease crept over him.
"I've reached the defense line. If you dare, come after me."
Suppressing his emotions, Bai He's eyes flashed with sharp resolve as he flew toward the Clear Sky Sect's encampment.
His speed had noticeably slowed, and Li Xun behind him was gradually closing in. Further back, a small black dot followed—likely Sword Douluo, judging by the pace.
But Bai He had no intention of speeding up again. Young people were impulsive and easily tempted; he planned to use himself as bait to lure Li Xun in.
A red firework shot from his hand, starkly visible against the azure sky.
Unlike the signals used in Heavenly Dou, the Star Luo military camp erupted into chaos.
It wasn't due to lax discipline—they had suffered too many defeats recently.
From above, the scene resembled ants scattering on a hot pan, everyone moving in disarray.
Fortunately, the turmoil was temporary. As several figures abruptly soared into the air, morale stabilized somewhat.
"Sect Leader, assist me quickly!" Spotting the central figure, Bai He's face brightened as he sped forward.
Tang Xiao saw Bai He racing toward him and also noticed the figure trailing behind. "Prepare for battle!"
The distance was too great to identify the pursuer, but past experience suggested only Sword Douluo could barely keep up with Bai He.
The Clear Sky Sect members immediately braced for a serious fight.
Having clashed multiple times, they were well aware of Sword Douluo's strength and knew he often had backup.
Meanwhile, Li Xun was reveling in the thrill of flying with a sword.
The wind roaring past his ears and buffeting his face was far beyond what the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone's flight could offer. In this moment, he felt like a true sword immortal.
"Trying to lure me in? Let's see who's really fishing here."
Noticing Bai He's sudden deceleration, Li Xun chuckled fearlessly, undaunted by the Clear Sky Sect's battle-ready stance.
The distance narrowed until clothing outlines became discernible. By then, Bai He had reached Tang Xiao's side and turned to face Li Xun.
Closer still, Li Xun could see the old man's face wearing a smug, condescending smile.
Li Xun also smiled, slowly pressing his palms together. The Soul Power within his body was drawn but not yet released, while the Flying Sword beneath his feet showed no intention of stopping.
"Xiao Xun, don't!"
This scene gave Sword Douluo behind him a fright, and he hurriedly shouted.
But the distance between them was too great, and his voice was drowned out by the wind.
Sword Douluo immediately channeled all his Soul Power, increasing his speed by a fraction.
"Sect Leader, that's Li Xun over there."
Bai He pointed at Li Xun, who was charging toward them, and said with a laugh.
Tang Xiao's eyes lit up. Though puzzled by Li Xun's incredible speed, he thought that since this kid dared to charge into their camp alone, it would be a waste not to capture him as a bargaining chip.
The others from the Clear Sky Sect also showed expressions of delight.
Li Xun's actions were akin to throwing himself into a trap, and this could very well become the turning point in their standoff with Heavenly Dou.
One by one, Clear Sky Hammers materialized, and the crowd grew increasingly impatient.
At this moment, Li Xun felt the distance was close enough.
Seeing that Bai He showed no intention of moving, he smiled. Instantly, more than half of the Soul Power in his body was drained, and the second Martial Soul beneath his feet vanished: "Spirit Avatar, True Several Thousand Hands."
The originally clear sky abruptly darkened, and a shadow loomed over everyone's heads.
An enormous figure, too vast to take in at a single glance, descended from above.
Boom—
An immense black shadow crashed to the ground, stirring up clouds of dust. In that moment, the earth shook and the mountains trembled.
Shock, terror.
Slowly, the crowd lifted their heads and looked upward. Anyone who caught a clear glimpse of the colossal Thousand-Hand Buddha Statue instinctively gasped, their courage shattering in the next instant.
