Chapter 142 - Chapter 142: Beating Weaklings Is So Fun!

(Note: Because the lack of Avatar chapters, I'm posting two Fairy Tail chapters.)

3rd POV

By the time Fingers had finished describing Jiemma and how the new Sabertooth guild operated under his rule, everyone who had been listening was sporting intense expressions. The women had a horrified or a teary-eyed expression as they looked down at Fingers, while the men sported nothing but fury at Jiemma's ways.

"T-That's so horrifying; h-how could someone do that?" Levy muttered softly with teary eyes while looking at Fingers, who had gotten more lethargic as his inevitable death continued to approach. "Tsk, that is no man, he is nothing but a monster." Furious, Elfman folded his arms, glaring at Fingers intensely.

While others voiced their opinions, Erza's question gathered everyone's attention. "If you knew this, why didn't you do anything beforehand?" Deeply frowning, she stared at Fingers, who slowly blinked before responding.

"B-Because J-Jiemma was the strongest, s-so he had t-the right to do whatever h-he wanted." Fingers' response caused everyone to freeze, their pitiful gazes quickly turning to cold indifference and disgust. "H-How could you not care?" Wendy, unable to understand his logic, stared at him in confusion.

"M-Might makes right; i-if you have the strength, y-you can do whatever you want. T-That's what Jiemma believes, and so do I." Fingers words didn't seem to help Wendy as she continued to look at it in bewilderment. "Then why are you here?" Cooper stared down at Fingers, his expression unreadable. "B-Because, h-he tried to kill me! I-If it weren't for M-Minerva, I-I would've been killed by him; I-I want him to die!"

There was a bout of silence at Fingers's hypocritical words, only for Cooper to suddenly chuckle. "Hehehe, what a fucking coward." Although Cooper was chuckling, his expression wasn't that of amusement; rising to his feet, he retracted his hand from Fingers.

Immediately afterwards, Wendy stepped forward, resuming her healing on Fingers, a wasted effort, though she continued to do so, dead-set on saving him. Cooper, seeing Weny's actions and her determined expression, clicked his tongue, grabbed her by the collar, and tossed her to Mirajane. "B-Big bro!?" Although Wendy called out, Cooper promptly ignored her. "Mira, don't let her watch."

Mirajane, nodding in understanding, covered Wendy's eyes. "B-Big bro, w-what are you doing?" Nervous as she had an inkling of what he intended to do, Wendy tried to remove Mirajane's hands, but her strength wasn't nearly enough. With her vision obscured, there was suddenly a wet, tearing, and snapping sound, causing Wendy to gulp in fear, her imagination running wild.

"Fried, handle the body." "Got it." As Fried dragged the body out of the guild, Cooper glanced at Wendy, who was frozen in place, before shifting his gaze to Makarov. "Gramps, get your ass up, it's time to go to work." Wiping the hand he stabbed Fingers' heart with, he walked outside the guild, prompting Makarov and everyone else to follow, save for Wendy, who was staring at the bloody spot.

"Yosh, when's the next train to Sabertooth? I'll personally kick that Jiemma's ass!" Punching his hand, Natsu's eyes shone with violence. "Who cares? We'll just steal a train." Snorting, Gajeel growled softly while looking into the distance.

While everyone was seemingly walking to the train station, Makarov and Cooper suddenly stopped, causing them to look at them in confusion. "Why'd you guys stop?" At Lucy's question, Makarov promptly grew into a giant, towering over the city, looking like a true giant. "Who said I was using the train?" Shooting Lucy a glance, Cooper dashed up Makarov's body, reaching his shoulder in but a few seconds.

"Do you know where Gazania Town is, Gramps?" Folding his arms, Cooper spoke directly beside Makarov's ear, prompting him to nod as he shifted his body until he was facing Gazania Town. "Are you sure about this, Cooper? You're still injured from your previous mission." As Makarov looked at Cooper in concern, he simply snorted, unbothered by his words.

"They won't make a difference. Besides, would you rather spend more time waiting while children are in danger?" Glancing at Makarov, who agreed with Cooper's words, he gently grabbed him and reeled his giant arm back.

With Cooper curled within Makarov's hand, he gathered all of his strength within his arm and threw Cooper with all his might, causing him to soar through the sky, breaking the sound barrier and flying through clouds as his figure rapidly vanished over the horizon under everyone's watchful gaze.

"Will he be alright?" Glancing at where Cooper's figure had vanished, Jet glanced at Makarov, who had shrunk to his normal stature. "It's Cooper, he'll be fine… C'mon, everyone, let's return to the guild." With a faint, confident smirk, Makarov headed back to the guild, earning the ire of several others.

"Eh, b-but we want to help big bro!" "Yeah, it's a man's duty to protect the young!" "I also want to help Minerva." Despite their passionate response, Makarov simply yawned. "There's no point, by the time you arrive, Cooper will have long-since razed Sabertooth to the ground. Now c'mon, let's clean the guild up, let's have it nice for when Cooper returns."

Although his words left them unsatisfied, they still did as told, knowing that with Cooper present, everything would be taken care of.

Minerva POV

"Again!" Hearing Father's voice, I groaned in pain and slowly stumbled to my feet, looking at his figure through my blurry vision, only to quickly teleport myself behind him when he lunged at me.

I raised my hands, intending to attack, but my entire body violently shook, causing me to drop to my knees while coughing blood. 'I-I can b-barely feel my magic power.' "Distracted!" Father promptly dug his fist into my stomach, causing me to violently cough as I skidded across the ground before slamming into the wall.

"Again!" "I-I c-can't." I could barely move my head as it was; to stand back up, I couldn't do that anymore. "Only the weak use such a word! Stand!" As his cold voice entered my ears, I bit my lip, holding back my tears as I fought through the pain and slowly rose to my feet, only to collapse to my knees halfway through.

"I-I can't F-Father." I looked up to him, hoping, praying he'd finally end this, though I should've known better. "I'm not asking, I'm commanding you. Stand Up! I'm not raising weak–" Father stood before, staring down at me while aggressively speaking, but he wasn't able to finish as the doors were suddenly busted open.

"M-Master Jiemma! W-We're under attack!" Turning around, he faced the man. "Who? Which guild dares attack my guild?" "N-No, it's not a guild. I-It's just one person!" Not only was my father confused, so was I; one person attacking a whole guild, that was suicide.

'W-Who'd attack?' My question was answered a moment later as the wall to my left exploded, filling the room with debris and dust, obscuring my already blurry vision, but not my hearing. "Tsk, found you." Hearing that familiar voice, I couldn't help but widen my eyes.

'C-Cooper!?' At first, I was surprised, then filled with joy, thinking he'd come to help me, though that joy swiftly turned into dread. 'N-No, Cooper, h-he'll die facing Father! I-I can't let him die because of me!' Even if it meant risking my life, I couldn't let the only person who'd ever shown me what kindness is die because of me.

"Ugh, C-Cooper." Muttering softly, I spat blood onto the ground and proceeded to crawl, though I was suddenly stopped when I felt a hand on my head, prompting me to look up, only to see him. "C-Cooper?"

"I'm sorry, Minerva." As he gently rubbed my head, I felt tears well up in my eyes, and I began crying.

Cooper POV

Seeing Minerva cry, I patted her head. "Stay here, I'll talk with your dad." "W-Wait, p-please don't, h-he'll kill you!" Grabbing my hand, Minerva anxiously looked up at me, causing me to smirk. "Don't worry, I'm pretty strong." As I pointed at myself, I pulled my hand away and stood up, only to let out a deep breath, dispelling the smoke and dust and allowing me to see Jiemma standing in the distance.

"So you're the person who corrupted my daughter with weakness. Perfect, I'll let her see what happens when you're weak." Jiemma proceeded to stare at me with an indifferent gaze, as if I were but an insect.

"I heard all about you, Jiemma, a man who believes in nothing but strength. Go ahead, I'll allow you a free hit before I kill you." Sporting a blood thirsty grin, I stuffed my hands in my pockets while glaring at him, causing him to raise an eyebrow. "What bravado. I'll make your death swift."

A large amount of magic power erupted from him as he lunged towards me, thrusting his fist squarely at my chest.

"C-COOPER!"

As his fist landed, a violent explosion enveloped me, shaking the entire guild's foundation. "This is what happens when you're wea—" Before he could finish speaking, I whipped my hand out from the smoke and clutched his face, staring at him with a disappointed expression.

"You speak of strength, but that's all you amount to? What a fucking weakling." With wide eyes, Jiemma attacked me once more, punching my face, only to grab his wrist afterwards. "Congrats, you got a tooth." Spitting a tooth onto the ground, I looked back up at him, only to knee his arm, breaking it at his elbow.

However, I didn't allow him to scream as I slammed him into the ground, doing so repeatedly to vent my fury. "You like beating weaklings, right!? How is it!? Do you enjoy it!?" Throwing him into the air, I leaped after him, grabbed his ankle, and threw him down onto the ground before landing atop his chest.

"Hahaha, what fun! I never knew beating weaklings could be so fun! So exhilarating! C'mon, fight back! That'll be even more fun!" I continued to violently abuse him for a few more minutes, leaving him entirely unable to retaliate against the overwhelming violence I was inflicting on him.
