The missile hit the target with a loud boom, the oceans surface erupting into blood and gore as a massive cry tore through the air. A colossal killer whale surfaced out of the water, bloated and hungry. The whale launched up into the sky now with a hole blasted into its body, green blood and yellow meat fell out from the wound. The killer whale fell back into the ocean water with a splash, As waves sprayed up over the sides of their pink speedboat. Raven's foot pressed down on a button near the deck-mounted missile launcher.
The button clicked under her heel. From beneath the speedboat, a small hatch snapped open. With a rapid hiss, a launcher system activated and deployed several German DM-31 proximity boat mines into the sea behind them, each one spreading out behind the boat.
Raven's eyes didn't leave the whale as she said. "Don't stop firing at that whale, Alara! This thing is a fully evolved Level One mutated sea creature!"
Alara's hands were already in motion as her eyes locked onto the killer whale.
Pew pew
The missile launcher auto-loaded from the deck below as more missiles fired at the whale.
Boom. Boom. Boom. Each missile slammed into the back of the charging whale, sending blood and flesh into the sky in massive geyser like burts.
With a loud roar that made the boat's deck vibrate, the whale charged forward, its massive body swimming through the ocean like a torpedo. Its bulk shattered smaller waves in front of it as he charged. Raven ran to the front of the boat, leaping into the pilot seat and grabbing the controls. As the engine came to life.
As the boat sped across the ocean, Raven looked back. "Don't just stand there, Alara! Keep firing!"
Alara obeyed, as another missile fired from the launcher just as the whale surfaced again. The whale opened its mouth wide, revealing a faint blue orb forming in his throat then he unleashed a massive glowing sphere of superheated compressed ocean water.
Alara reacted instantly, angling the launcher at the projectile and firing. The missile flew upwards and collided midair with the water bomb. Boom—the sphere exploded in a violent burst of steam and concussive force. Scalding hot mists of ocean water slammed across the boat, washing over both girls. Raven hissed through her teeth as her exposed skin blistered on contact with the salt water.
Raven charged forward, one arm raised to shield her eyes from the heat. Behind them, the killer whale charged straight into the path of the deployed mines.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
Three of the DM-31s detonated in quick succession, hammering the mutated whale with deadly force. Chunks of pink, steaming flesh flew across the sea as the shockwaves rocked their speed boat violently. Raven held boat steady, her knuckles white on the steering wheel as the engine kept running.
Despite the damage, the killer whale surfaced again, with rage and madness burning in its eyes. With a guttural cry, it gathered another ball of compressed water and released a second bomb towards them.
Raven twisted the steering wheel, turning the boat broadside. The orb flew towards them, as Raven angled the vessel so her side would take the hit, shielding Alara from the impact.
Boom. The compressed water ball struck the boat's flank. The explosion ripped a massive chunk from the port side, throwing shattered hull fragments across the ocean. Metal groaned, plastic cracked, and a side railing flew past Raven's head.
Alara stumbled from the impact but managed to stay on her feet. Raven gritted her teeth, hands slamming the throttle forward as she steadied the boat's nose and began moving toward's the distant beach.
"Alara!" Raven shouted, her voice hoarse. "Hit the big red button by your right foot!"
Alara looked down and slammed her foot against the red button embedded on the deck.
With a shriek, a massive slot opened above the rear engine. A series of cylinders fired three enormous spinning three-sided blades the size of a card table at the whale.
Pew. Pew. Pew.
The blades moved across the water, kicking up waves behind them as they traveled twoards the killer whale's face.
