Chapter 314 - Chapter 313

Chapter 313: Ginny and Harry

Alexander hadn't expected Ginny to resist his natural influence.

It wasn't that he had ever used a Love Potion, charm, or spell.

Alexander himself was… simply dangerously attractive.

For most witches, resisting him was like resisting a living aphrodisiac.

That was one of the real reasons he masked his presence so often.

Being stared at all day, constantly pursued, and living life as an enhanced version of Harry's popularity was not something a human being could endure.

Alexander understood this painfully well.

He had once experimented with staying among a crowd to observe the effect.

The result?

A swarm of overly enthusiastic witches nearly devoured him alive.

That was also the time he had met Penelope Clearwater — the only girl who remained mostly unaffected.

So he understood why Ginny Weasley wasn't collapsing under the effect right now.

Ginny liked Harry too much.

She had grown up on stories of the Boy Who Lived — Harry, her prince charming and lifelong crush.

After Ron befriended Harry, he spent years unknowingly praising him in front of his little sister.

Of course Ginny would walk right past Alexander without a second glance just to greet Harry.

Alexander wasn't offended.

Ginny wasn't his type anyway — she had a Western-style beauty that didn't match his own aesthetic.

Still… his pride felt slightly poked.

Which meant only one thing:

Harry needed more training.

Alexander sighed internally.

"I'm such a good friend to Harry," he thought with an involuntary grin.

"Alexander, you're smiling again," Luna said, poking at the dimples forming on his cheeks.

---

On the other side of the corridor, Ginny rushed straight toward Harry, brushing right past Ron — who had run ahead out of sibling panic.

"Hi, Harry… long time no see," Ginny said softly, cheeks flushed.

"Hey! I'm your brother standing right here!" Ron protested loudly.

"And also — how do you even know Alexander?"

"Oh. Ron."

Ginny blinked as though noticing him for the first time.

"Hello, Ginny," Harry greeted awkwardly, copying Ron's question. "How do you know him?"

Ginny blinked again.

"Who's Alexander?"

The innocent confusion — paired with her sharply outlined features and Weasley freckles — made Harry's heart skip.

Ginny looked… more grounded than Helena, more lively than Cho.

Of course, Harry didn't know that Helena would probably overreact dramatically if she overheard him thinking that.

But Ginny certainly understood the meaning behind Harry's gaze.

He was jealous.

Jealous that she had seen a "handsome guy."

A warm, victorious flutter spread in her chest.

"Oh — you mean the handsome one standing with Luna?" Ginny asked sweetly.

She said it deliberately, hoping to push Harry a little closer toward her.

"I—am—your—brother," Ron said slowly, each word dripping with despair.

"Yes, you're my only brother in Ravenclaw," Ginny replied innocently.

Harry, in her mind, occupied a category of his own.

And thanks to last year's rumors about Harry, Ron, and Draco, Ginny had matured early on one important lesson:

Love is war.

Hermione had once taught her a ridiculous theory involving "making them jealous by attracting other boys."

But Ginny didn't need to flirt with anyone else.

Her square, bold features, fiery red hair, and bright freckles were naturally striking — a style adored by Western wizards.

All she needed to do was shine in front of Harry.

So she subtly brushed her hair back, adjusted her angle, and — as if startled by Ron's voice — slipped her hand around Harry's arm.

Alexander, watching from afar, sighed in relief.

Thank Merlin Ginny wasn't doing that to him.

Her sudden boldness came from her attempt to hide her immediate attraction to Alexander.

Now she was overcompensating, investing all her attention into Harry.

Harry, blissfully unaware, muttered something under his breath.

"That crazy girl?"

He regretted it immediately — but it was too late.

Alexander's heart hardened again.

How dare he call Luna that?

"Yeah," Ron sighed, continuing the insult without thinking. "That's how Alexander met the crazy girl."

"RON!" Ginny snapped.

"Stop corrupting Harry! Luna is NOT a crazy girl!"

Ron shrank.

Ginny's temper resembled Mrs. Weasley's far too much — even Fred and George would retreat at a time like this.

After a moment, Ginny regained her calm.

"Maybe they're related?" she said thoughtfully. "They both have silver eyes."

Harry blinked curiously, and Ginny misread it as confirmation.

In her mind, Luna wasn't nearly as charming as she was — no way Alexander would fall for her.

Ginny told herself she'd given up on Alexander… but a small corner of her heart still ached with a strange sourness.

"But why are you two here?" she asked.

"We were looking for you!" Ron huffed.

"Harry saw Peeves earlier. We thought he might target the first-years."

"Harry… you were worried about me?" Ginny whispered, eyes sparkling.

"It was us," Ron muttered, but Ginny didn't hear him at all.

To her, the whole corridor seemed to blur away — leaving only Harry and the warmth in his eyes.

"You could say that," Harry admitted softly.

Something fluttered wildly in his chest — like a golden snitch trying to escape.

He looked at Ginny again, and for a moment, Helena and Cho flickered through his mind… then faded completely.

Only Ginny remained.
