Evening settles in quietly.
After cake and a light dinner, we sit on the bed with paper and pen between us, like we're planning a heist instead of a future human–alien hybrid.
"First thing," I say, tapping the pen, "we have to see a doctor."
"Yes," Jiang agrees immediately. "That's important."
"But it's risky," I continue, frowning. "What if the baby has… antenna? Not now, obviously. It's probably barely six weeks. If we assume it's from the first time then—fine. But what about later? What if something shows up on a scan?"
He doesn't hesitate. "If anything like that appears, I'll check the data myself. And if needed, I'll erase that part from the report."
I pause, then nod. "Okay. Good."
I write another point. "Also… after the baby is born, no random health checkups. No emergency blood tests. No injuries if we can help it. We still don't know their blood color."
"Understood," he says seriously.
I glance at him. "We're really doing this, huh?"
