Brandon's POV
I woke up smiling, though it felt entirely unplanned, like a gentle surprise that had crept in with the dawn.
Sunlight streamed through the tall window, warm and golden, casting a mesmerizing glow across my sheets as if it had come to celebrate some secret joy. Dust motes floated lazily in the warm light, swirling and dancing, creating a sense of magic in the air around me. For once, my room was devoid of the usual weight of noise or expectation, transformed into a sanctuary of peace.
It felt quiet. It felt safe.
With my head nestled halfway into the plush pillow and my face turned toward the nightstand, I lingered there for a moment, relishing the stillness. I didn't want to move; my body felt deliciously heavy, wrapped in a comforting cocoon of relaxation that I hadn't experienced in weeks.
And then, like a sudden spark igniting a fire, memories flooded my mind.
Chloe.
Our magical date.
