Chapter 256 - Chapter 256 — Sam Sacrifices the Solar System, the Path of Mechanical Evolution

In the Transformers' world, with technology and divine law now advancing in tandem, the entire solar system had become Earth's colony.

Once, people only dreamed about going to Mars or Pluto.

Now, if you wanted to go, you went.

The Eternal God's instruction to Sam was to keep pushing technology forward—fold divine-tech into Cybertronian engineering and make it stronger.

That question had stumped Autobot researchers for a long time.

Humans, too.

Divine law was a cultivation method.

Autobots were a mechanical civilization.

How could the two be integrated?

Later, Optimus Prime proposed merging divine-pattern techniques from divine law with engineering—make them the core drive.

Use the god-taught sigils.

That solved a lot of problems.

Cyborgs, for one. Bio-mechanical life, for another.

Right now, they were collecting minerals and stellar energies.

That was the Autobots' primary task.

Of course, the Decepticons had to be destroyed.

Sam stood at the lunar base talking to Bumblebee.

"Hey, brother, your Space Bridge still isn't finished?"

"Sam, you're killing me. Last time you flipped on an instant teleporter while you were talking to me, and now I've been dumped on the edge of the universe. Mineral collection's gotten a lot harder."

Bumblebee's aggrieved look made Sam laugh in spite of himself.

What could he do? The little guy always clung to him.

There was no helping it.

"Still, I've got good news. Even though I'm remote, I found the AllSpark left by the pioneers who opened up the universe. It's getting stronger. Once my army's ready, I'll start building a Space Bridge."

"Alright—remember to send coordinates sometimes."

"Okay."

When he cut the link, a secretary walked in.

"Chief Priest," she said, "ninety percent of Earth's population has become believers. Shall we begin the sacrifice?"

"Those Federation lapdogs—have they been dealt with?"

"Yes. All the restless elements have been eliminated."

"Good. We'll start the sacrifice when Optimus Prime returns."

At present, Earth had accumulated twelve AllSparks.

And six stellar cores.

Both were Optimus Prime's team's handiwork.

Sam had once fallen into a misconception, thinking he needed to conquer the universe before he could offer a sacrifice. Then he figured it out.

All he needed was to sacrifice the solar system.

To secure his own domain and keep hearts from wavering, Sam deliberately slowed his pace.

And he threatened to clean out any traitors.

Otherwise, once they reached the God's Domain, those politicians with slippery minds would surely start scheming.

Three days later,

Optimus Prime's fleet returned to the Moon.

The Autobots were now both stronger and more numerous. Once, Optimus Prime had been just a truck; now he could transform into a deep-space battleship.

That was the benefit of liquid metal:

change at will.

"Chief Priest Sam, good news this time—we found rare life-metal!"

"Life-metal? The ore you were made from?"

Sam's voice spiked.

He couldn't help it.

Why was the Transformers' leader so powerful—and able to accept the AllSpark's promotions?

Because they were built from special life-metal.

Second-generation Transformers,

made only of rare metals.

The higher the grade of metal, the stronger the Transformer.

That was this world's rule.

Optimus Prime smiled. "Of course. We put a lot of power into it this time."

One thing he didn't mention:

Skyfire had wanted to revive Cybertron.

He'd wanted to betray Sam to do it.

They executed him.

Optimus Prime never stayed his hand with traitors.

And the God was so vast,

with Sam as His messenger.

Touch Sam and the Autobots were finished.

"If that's the case, get ready for the sacrifice. Put the other planets on standby."

"Understood."

At Sam's order, Optimus Prime and the others opened a Space Bridge.

Countless veins of life-metal ore

were transported through.

The ore was rare but pulsed with a terrifying breath of life.

The only regret was this:

the ore couldn't directly form life.

It had to be catalyzed by an AllSpark.

But now, with divine-pattern techniques, Optimus Prime and his team could ignite fragments of seed-source and create new Autobots.

And the newborn race—

their devotion to God was dyed-in-the-wool!

A joke?

When Liu Che had casually granted divine-pattern techniques,

he'd already embedded them with loyalty sigils. Using divine patterns to catalyze Transformers was simple—but the cost was absolute loyalty to the Eternal Faith.

Souls were born with the mark.

Saved a lot of trouble.

"People of Earth, compatriots throughout the solar system, and all Transformers—now we proceed with the greatest sacrifice in history.

In this sacrifice, we will dedicate the entire solar system to God."

Sam's voice

carried through communicators

to every planet in the solar system; the far-flung Transformers paused their work as well.

This moment belonged to the God of Eternity.

It belonged to the sacrifice.

All beings had to display their loyalty to God.

Earth went first.

Billions of new humans, at home or near temples,

closed their eyes and prayed.

Then Mars, Venus…

until every planet lit up.

As chief priest, Sam opened the lunar altar.

Click.

Clack.

Metals shifted and re-formed.

They became a dark-golden altar, radiant with divine patterns.

Every planet was linked by a mysterious energy, becoming a galactic altar.

This was without question the strongest altar in history.

Sacrificing the solar system—

Sam's ambition had finally taken shape.

He had sharp eyes.

He knew the group looked harmonious on the surface, but the competition beneath was fierce.

So he had prepared in secret all along.

Above the mountains-and-rivers altar and the planetary altar,

there was a most terrifying altar: the interstellar altar.

That was Sam's work.

If anyone had been observing the solar system,

they would have noticed something terrifying:

a gorgeous nine-colored light,

launched from the heart of the sun,

connected all the planets, and finally converged on a mysterious sigil.

It was an ancient divine character.

Its name:

[Festival].

Light linked, the sigil ignited.

All the planets shuddered—and then something shocking happened.

A pair of eyes larger than a galaxy

appeared over the solar system.

Then the God's terrifying voice penetrated to the depths of every soul.

"Good. Your faith meets the standard. You may be promoted into the God's Domain."

It was the God of Eternity.

People exhaled.

And then wondered—how could something as huge as the solar system be promoted?

The answer arrived quickly.

An incomparably broad river wrapped around the solar system, and in a blink it was carried into a brand-new starry sky.

This world was strange,

yet comforting.

Just breathing filled the body with a pleasant vitality.

They reached the God's Domain so quickly?

The sky had long since shed any atmosphere.

It had no need of such things.

All creatures could see the God's Domain's style and features.

Above the sky ran a long, flowing river; in it you could see planets at a higher level—

incomparably massive,

many times larger than the sun.

Was that where the Gods lived?

No one knew.

Then a colossal star-dragon crossed the firmament and conveyed God's will.

"This world has now completed its promotion. You may continue to develop technology, and you may not cultivate. When your strength grows to the divine level, you will naturally ascend into the God's Domain above and go on developing."

That was the will for ordinary beings.

Sam and the others received different orders.

As people reveled in the joy of promotion, the world began to swell with mineral lodes that had only ever existed on alien worlds—one after another, they burst from the ground.

As if at no cost.

The life-metal ore that had taken Optimus Prime so long to find—an entire rock-lifeform born from that ore emerged right here.

It was enormous,

nearly a thousand meters tall,

mighty and imposing.

"Thank you for the God's gift. I, Yanshan, am your most loyal servant."

Every kind of life began to be born on Earth.

This was only a small glimpse.

Standing on the Moon, Sam could see Earth's changes directly.

From here, it was obvious.

Earth had become ten times larger.

The Moon as well.

All the planets were expanding.

"Sam."

"My God, I am here."

The voice in his mind startled the blond man,

and he dropped to his knees at once.

Heed God's will.

"You've done well. You are the first chief priest to open an interstellar altar. In view of your performance, I grant you the status of Five-Star Divine Envoy and permit you to go on conquering your own world."

"Thank you for the God's gift!"

Five-Star Envoy!!!

Too exalted.

He'd jumped several ranks at once.

Comfort itself.

And that was only the beginning.

"No thanks. This is your own achievement. I reward you with the Moon. The people of Cybertron may fashion Transformers; Yuanshi Tianzun can evolve the body as well.

Do not disappoint me."

"I will obey and never tarnish the God's honor."

Sam's voice shook with excitement.

He had been the chief priest of the lightning attribute.

Now, with the Moon in his hand, he could slowly transform it.

God was hinting:

he could become something beyond that world's Creation tier.

When Sam closed his eyes, he could now see a console.

A picture of the Moon

appeared in his mind's eye.

His consciousness had grown countless times stronger.

It felt incredible.

He decided to start transforming from the inside; after all, the Moon had metal ore in abundance.

The previous stockpiles had long been sacrificed.

Now, aside from Optimus Prime and the others,

no one had changed except his own cadre.

Under his mental touch,

the Moon began to transform rapidly.

Countless circuits manifested, one after another.

Divine patterns replaced energy conduits and led straight to the core.

In just a few hours,

a humanoid robot appeared in the starry sky.
