Alka used the same gesture, nodded, and they exchanged greetings.
"Finally, we've been waiting for you, masters. Please follow me. Your resting place has been prepared."
Saying this, two soldiers led Alka and the others towards the Church.
But just as they reached outside the port, the leading soldier captain thought for a moment, turned around, and asked Alka and the others.
"Saints, do you mind if we don't take Pilgrim's Avenue?"
"Pilgrim's Avenue?" Alka was a bit puzzled.
"It's the main road leading to the Church. Almost all pilgrims walk this path, step by step, to reach the Great Cathedral at the mountain peak.
Devout believers think that walking on this avenue, they'll receive the Holy Mother's gaze, examining their own character."
Hearing this, everyone nodded their heads involuntarily.
However, thinking of the crowd on that avenue, Alka shook his head.
"I don't mind; taking the path less traveled is alright."
"That's good."
The soldier seemed relieved.
