Everywhere Marcus looked, there were stands set up, each one crowded with people loudly advertising their clubs. Colorful banners waved overhead, pamphlets were shoved into hands, and overlapping voices filled the air.
"So we really have to join a club?" Marcus said annoyed as he scanned the scene.
"Yeah, it's school policy, Marcus. Besides, it won't be so bad. We'll join with you," Yukari said with a smile.
"Yeah, now cheer up and let's figure out which one we're joining," Kurumu said happily, bouncing slightly with excitement.
"Oh, how about the swim club?" Yukari said excitedly, her eyes lighting up.
"Nope. Moka can't be near water," Marcus said, immediately shutting the idea down.
"Sorry, Yukari," Moka said apologetically, lowering her head a little.
"Oh, it's not a big deal, Moka. Everybody has their weaknesses," Yukari said kindly.
"Well, how about book club?" Yukari suggested, gesturing as she spoke. "Sitting around a table, discussing a book we just finished reading."
"No thanks," Kurumu said dismissively, crossing her arms.
"How about the newspaper club? It's only got one member, so all of us should be able to join," Moka said helpfully, trying to offer a practical solution.
"Well, I mean, it is the only club left with enough open slots, so might as well. Let's go find the club president," Marcus said as he started walking forward.
He barely took a step before he suddenly felt weight drop onto his shoulders.
"All right, onward, my noble steed!" Yukari said as she pointed forward excitedly, enjoying herself.
"The hell, Yukari? That's so unfair! Get down!" Kurumu shouted in jealousy, glaring up at her.
"Oh, Kurumu, she's only twelve. She's just having fun," Moka said gently, trying to smooth things over.
She immediately ate her words when Yukari turned toward the two of them, smirked confidently, and held up a victory sign.
"So you were saying before, the so-called innocent twelve-year-old all but said she's winning," Kurumu said annoyed, grinding her teeth.
"My bad. I thought she was just a kid playing around," Moka said with a tired sigh.
------
Later, the four of them had just finished being introduced to their club president, Morioka Ginei, who insisted on being called Gin. He immediately attempted to flirt with Kurumu and Moka by presenting them with rose bouquets, much to their annoyance. Now, Marcus and Gin stood behind Moka and Kurumu, who were hanging flyers while perched high on ladders. Yukari stood silently next to Marcus.
When Gin thought no one was looking, he decided to try and look up Moka and Kurumu's skirts.
"Are you being for real right now, dude?" Marcus said angrily, his voice tight with disapproval.
"Huh? Marcus! How dare you look up these innocent young ladies' skirts while they're defenseless! For shame!" Gin declared, a transparent attempt to shift the blame.
Hearing the commotion, Moka and Kurumu looked over from their ladders. Moka glared down at Marcus, her cheeks flushing a deep red, while Kurumu blushed as well, though her smile turned seductive.
"Wow. Really?" Marcus replied to Gin, his annoyance evident. "Okay, first off, Yukari is standing right here and saw everything. Secondly, I don't have to peek. They both flash me like twenty times a day, to the point I'm convinced it's on purpose."
"What? We do not do it on purpose! It's an accident every time!" Moka said defensively, her face burning even hotter.
"Actually, I'm doing it on purpose a hundred percent of the time," Kurumu admitted without hesitation, smirking shamelessly. "I'd do more if he asked."
Marcus gestured toward the girls and said. "So yeah, in short, you picked the wrong scapegoat, man."
Gin stared for a moment, then slumped his shoulders in defeat. "Well, damn. I didn't think you were such a lucky bastard. Alright, let's head back to the club," he said with a resigned sigh.
-------
Gin stared in open envy as he took in the scene before him. Marcus sat calmly at the table, Kurumu pressed snugly against his left side and Moka clinging to his right, both girls glaring daggers at Yukari, who was comfortably seated in Marcus's lap with a smug, victorious expression.
"Find an actual seat, Yukari. We know you're doing this on purpose," Moka said with a pout, cheeks puffed out in irritation.
"Yeah, you stop using your small size to your advantage," Kurumu added, shooting the young witch a jealous glare.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Some of us don't have massive melons to catch Marcus's attention with, so we have to make do," Yukari shot back in annoyance, chin lifted defiantly.
"Oh well, it's not like you can actually do anything since you're still a kid," Kurumu replied with a smug grin.
"Maybe not, but I can take advantage of my young age to keep doing stuff like this, hogging all of Marcus's attention and keeping you two from getting any further until I'm older," Yukari pointed out, her lips curling into a far-from-innocent smile.
At that, both Moka and Kurumu froze, staring at the young witch with wide eyes filled with sheer disbelief.
"Are you hearing any of what they're saying?" Gin muttered, his voice thick with stunned disbelief as he leaned toward Marcus.
"I've gotten used to it," Marcus replied calmly, barely looking up as he continued writing something down.
"I think we should do a story on the peeping Tom that's going around the school," Marcus added, finally lifting his gaze toward Gin.
"Which one?" Gin said with a snort.
"The one that's been terrorizing most of the girls at this school, snapping photos of them when they're at their most vulnerable," Marcus said seriously, locking eyes with Gin.
"Oh… well, we'll just have to look around, won't we?" Gon said nervously, shifting uncomfortably.
------
For the next week, Gin tried again and again to frame Marcus for peeping on girls, setting traps and spreading rumors, only for Marcus to remain one step ahead of him every single time. Each attempt collapsed before it could take root, and the frustration built until Gin finally snapped. Unable to take it anymore, he decided to confront Marcus directly, calling him out to the school rooftop on a full-moon night.
"Look, I'll be honest. I want Moka, and you're in the way," Gin said with a snarl, his eyes glowing faintly in the moonlight.
"Just transform already. I don't need to hear your stupid speech," Marcus replied calmly, cracking his knuckles.
"I'm gonna enjoy this more than I should," Gin said with a sigh.
With that, his body twisted and expanded, bones cracking and muscles swelling as he took on his true form, becoming a large, gray werewolf that towered over Marcus.
"I can't believe it," Marcus said in disbelief, staring up at him.
"What, that I'm a big, powerful werewolf?" Gin said with a smirk, baring sharp fangs.
"No, that your fur's gray when you have black hair. It's freaking weird, man," Marcus said casually, tilting his head.
"That's what you focus on?!" Gin shouted in shock.
Snarling, Gin rushed toward Marcus at blinding speed, claws aimed straight for his throat. His eyes widened in disbelief when his attack stopped cold, his wrist caught firmly in Marcus's grip.
"You know, I'm getting real sick of being targeted by weaker opponents. I know this academy has some strong people worth fighting, I can sense them, but none of them seem to want to come out," Marcus said with clear disappointment.Marcus then proceeded to violently pummel gin unconscious.
Moments later, Gin lay sprawled on the rooftop. Marcus calmly pulled out a cellphone, looked down at the fallen werewolf, and dialed a certain number.
"Hey, Lord Tet, can you do me a favor?"
-------
Hours later, Gin groaned as he regained consciousness, blinking up to see Marcus staring down at him.
"Huh, you didn't kill me," Gin said in confusion as he slowly sat up.
"Of course not. You're not a bad dude. There's still hope for you. That's why I did you a huge favor, one that will permanently turn your life around," Marcus said seriously.
"Oh yeah? And what's that?" Gin asked as he pushed himself fully to his feet.
A strong hand suddenly clamped down on Gin's shoulder. When he turned around, his breath caught as he saw an older man in a military uniform standing behind him. The man had silver hair tied back in a ponytail and a stern, commanding expression.
"Morioka Ginei. I am Wolfgang Regendorf. I am head of the Beowolves. Your classmate has already informed me of your behavior," Wolfgang said sternly.
"I have contacted your parents, and they have given me permission to sign you up for military training this summer. I will be here to collect you at the end of the school year. Be prepared," Wolfgang said, turning and departing without another word.
"You got me signed up for the military while I was unconscious!!!! And since when is there a werewolf military?" Gin said in shock.
"This is better than you eventually being caught by one of the girls at the academy and being arrested and having your life ruined," Marcus said with a shrug.
"Yeah… I guess," Gin said in resignation.
"See you at club tomorrow," Marcus said as he walked away.
(Authors Note: Definitely not my best Marcus chapter I didn't really enjoy the episode it's based off of Gin was a dick through the whole thing he turns himself around later but for now I just wanted to bully him a bit anyway while I have your attention I'd like to announce that going forward I'm going to try to do two main story chapters then two side story chapters because the side stories really need more attention than they've been getting as for the spin offs I'm gonna give those more attention as well so don't worry)
