Chapter 20 - Chapter 20- “Friday Night Fire”

Chapter 20

"Friday Night Fire"

It was finally Friday. Susan was glowing.

"Finally, it's Friday! Don't come home late, okay?"

Susan called to Mia, who was at the door, keys in hand, about to head to work.

"Yes, yes, I get it," Mia rolled her eyes, but a tiny smile tugged at her lips. She slipped out the door.

The second it clicked shut, Susan clapped her hands like a kid on Christmas morning.

"What sexy outfit am i going to wear today?" she sang, skipping to her room in full main-character energy.

........

When Mia and Susan walked into SON's Club, the whole room glitched.

Every eye in the place snapped to them. Well not every eyes at first but still they were the center of envy. jealousy, interest, admiration.

But the most common was Lust. Thick, heavy, aura-farming lust.

All eyes was on Mia who wore the "Venom Vixen" a purple off-shoulder bandage dress by House of CB that clung to her like it was painted on. The neckline dipped just enough to be spicy but still classy.

On her feet is the "Black Widow" 6-inch patent leather stilettos from Louboutin, the red soles flashing with every step.

Her purse is a tiny purple Jacquemus Le Chiquito big enough for lip gloss and her phone.

Her makeup is a "Nude Smoke" glam. A soft taupe cut-crease with smoked-out liner, fluttery lashes, and Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk on her lips. Nude, but deadly.

Her wavy black hair is glossy, tumbling past her shoulders like liquid midnight. She didn't walk she glided.

People whispered wondering were this goddess came from who is ready to trap every man in her web.

Others whispered saying she looks like a vixen.

On a normal day, Mia was already a 10. But tonight? The makeup made her a cheat code.

And don't forget Susan who was also breath taken.

Susan wore the "Midnight Muse" a short black silk slip dress from Rat & Boa that flowed like water and hit mid-thigh. Over it, she threw a matching black silk jacket, same length, with sharp shoulders. CEO-meets-femme-fatale.

She wore a "Leg Dagger" 7-inch black lace-up heels by Amina Muaddi, the delicate straps snaking up her calves like silk ropes.

Her makeup was a "Scarlet Sin" smoked-out black eyeshadow, sharp wing, and a bold MAC Ruby Woo red lip that screamed "kiss me or regret it."

Her hair was sleek, straight, tucked behind one ear with a diamond pin. Cold. Expensive. Untouchable.

Men couldn't take their eyes off her. Susan and Mia walked in together and it was a jaw-dropping, screen-freezing, NPC-malfunctioning scene.

........

Willson had come to the club early. Like, sus early. When Richard saw him, he just shook his head and went back to wiping glasses. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

Time dragged. Willson's leg bounced. He kept checking the door, getting more impatient by the minute.

Richard came over to refill his drink and tried, again, to talk him out of his psycho plan.

But before Richard could get a word out, they both heard it, the collective gasp from the floor below.

When they looked down, they were dumbstruck. Just like every other guy in the club, they couldn't take their eyes off the two women who'd just walked in.

Mia was used to stares, but this? This made her skin crawl. Susan, on the other hand, was eating the attention. Living for it.

"Why are they looking at us like we're monkeys in a zoo? I don't like it," Mia complained through gritted teeth, shoulders tense.

Susan clicked her tongue. Tsk.

"Chill, will you? They're just admiring our beauty, okay? You should get used to it. It's giving celebrity."

"No, I can't get used to this, okay? Look, this is not the first time I've gone clubbing, but this is the first time I'm experiencing all this, and I'm not a fan, okay?" Mia hissed, still complaining.

"Yes, this is not your first time here, but this is the first time i dressed you up to look this good. So obviously you have to stand out. If it was up to you, you would've dressed up like an old granny. Jeez, so boring," Susan said, clicking her tongue again.

"I do not dress like an old granny, okay?" Mia said defensively, eyes narrowing.

Susan looked her up and down and smirked. "Okay, keep on saying that until you believe it, unni."

She laughed and dragged Mia along to the bar.

As soon as they sat down, the rest of the club came back to their senses. Barely.

Whispers started. Heads turned. Everyone was glancing at them, wondering who these ethereal ladies were.

Richard stared at Mia, frowning. She looked so familiar. Where had he seen her?

Willson on the other hand was flabbergasted because he knew exactly who just walked in.

"My, my, my, my, my… seeing her in person? Wow. She looks spectacular,"

Willson whispered, putting his hand to his lips and blowing a kiss into the air. Cringe, but okay.

When Richard heard that, he snapped back to reality.

"What are you saying? Do you know them?" He asks

"That's Susan. And her friend," Willson said, a big, creepy smile spreading across his face.

Richard was stunned. He couldn't say a word. He just turned back and kept staring at Mia, trying to remember where he'd seen her. The memory was right there, just out of reach.

"They're beautiful, aren't they?" Willson asked, not even looking at Richard.

Richard, still lost staring at Mia, said "yes" subconsciously. Automatic.

Willson whipped his head around, surprised.

"Well, well, well. Look who's been smitten. I guess no matter how innocent, pure, and holy a guy is, he can't resist the forbidden fruit,"

Willson said, voice dripping with amusement.

When Richard registered what he'd just agreed to, he rolled his eyes but didn't stop looking at Mia. She's literally ringing a bell in my head.

"Who are you looking at? Susan or her friend Mia?" Willson asked, mischief written all over his face.

He added, slinging an arm over Richard's shoulder, "If it's Susan, I don't mind sharing her with you, bro." He grinned. Major ick.

Richard shoved him off and gave him a look of pure disgust.

Willson knew he'd said too much and quickly surrendered, raising both hands.

"My bad, my bad."

Richard couldn't be bothered with him.

"Susan's friend looks familiar. I'm sure I've seen her somewhere, but I just can't remember,"

Richard said, still trying to recall. His brain was buffering.

When Willson heard that, he was genuinely shocked. Richard wasn't the type to say stuff like that. If he said he'd seen Mia, then he had seen Mia. He just couldn't remember.

"Wow. Should I call this fate or what? You actually know who Susan's friend is… interesting," he said, putting a hand to his jaw, eyes gleaming. This just got fun.
