Emma felt the early autumn breeze blow against her face. She raised her head to look at the sun above, peering through the large tree. The leaves cast a shadow on her face.
She thought about the conversation between her parents, unable to make sense of it.
Did her father do something wrong to her mother?
Could it be that he already knew her mother wasn't fond of her?
However, from what she had observed from childhood, her father was full of affection for Jude, treating the woman gently and listening to everything she had to say.

She could feel her head aching.
