Harry Hunter found a very sturdy tree that bore quite a number of fruits, dug it up along with the soil, wrapped it in cling film, and had David put it in the car to take back with them.
He washed his hands in the creek and led Isabella Weaver back to the campsite, where smoke was already swirling around, and aromas were omnipresent.
"Jace, the fire is too fierce, make it smaller."
"Jace, we're out of water, fetch another bucket."
"Jace, try my mushroom soup, does it need more salt?"
On the grass, Zoe Lewis had Jace running around with her orders, but every dish she prepared was given to Jace to taste, almost feeding him to full.
Jace returned with a bundle of branches, protesting discontentedly: "Zoe, why not let me taste it for you? I want some mushroom soup too. The flavor is too fresh! You can't let Jace have it all!"
There were no mushrooms on Mount Verity; those Zoe used for the soup were actually brought from the city.
