Connor used to never dare to have any thoughts about her; he felt she should marry that kind of elite man, at least someone with a PhD, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, refined, and articulately spoken.
But by a twist of fate, she became his, really giving him a lucky break.
Connor took out a soup bowl to serve the soup, and Natalie Niles reached out to carry it, but he didn't let her.
"It's very hot, don't touch it. I'll carry it. You go sit outside and just wait to eat."
He carried the soup out of the kitchen, with Natalie Niles following behind him. When he put down the soup bowl and went back to the kitchen for the rest, Natalie followed him in again.
Connor, feeling helpless, had to hold a dish in one hand and her hand in the other: "Do you like following me so much?"
Natalie didn't speak, just kept following him wherever he went; when he went to wash his hands, she followed him.
