"I thought you wouldn't be coming back tonight."
Brandan Hyde hung his clothes on the rack. Hearing her words, he turned his head to give her a glance.
"I thought you were very angry."
His movements slowed down as he focused on Iris Harris's expression on the bed, then walked over and bent down to look at her.
He asked her, "Do you care about me, Iris?"
His gaze was fixed on her, carrying an indescribably complex look.
Iris nodded.
Brandan watched her actions, seemingly surprised by her nod, and he himself paused for a moment, his expression becoming somewhat strange.
Iris's hands restlessly intertwined, attempting to reason with Brandan, who always got angry too easily, leaving her unsure of how to communicate with him normally.
"I wish we could get along well," she said, pressing her lips together, "but I don't know how to get along with you. You're always stubborn, never willing to listen to what I say, and arrogant..."
