The two of them faced each other in the lab, four eyes meeting—one a little nervous but still staring straight at the other, the other with a faint trace of surprise in the eyes.
After quite a while, Jiang Lihua still hadn't said anything.
Fan Xinglan couldn't hold it in anymore: "C-can I? I've liked you for a long time."
Mr. Fan had always been the one getting confessed to since he was a kid; this was his first time confessing, and he was stammering all over the place.
As soon as he finished, he felt it wasn't cool enough, and he practically wanted to slap himself, fall over, and rewind to say it again.
He hadn't expected to confess in such a rushed, random way either.
Jiang Lihua was just too smart. Before, maybe it was only because he hid it too deep and She was too focused on research to think about this messy stuff. Once She started thinking, though, nothing could stay hidden.
Under those beautiful, sharp eyes of hers, Fan Xinglan was so nervous his scalp was tingling.
