Rosy followed right behind.
Maeve hadn't turned on the lights. When Rosy flipped them on, she saw the little girl had kicked off her slippers, curled up into the soft sofa and was leaning back, long lashes lowered, eyes half closed, looking like she wanted to rest.
Rosy only felt irritable and full of hate.
Anyway, at this point she already couldn't stand the sight of Maeve, so no matter how she looked at her, the girl was just annoying.
But—
Caiden Ward spoiled her, so she couldn't let her emotions show.
Rosy thought for a moment, then asked in a seemingly casual tone, "Where did Uncle Ward take you to play today?"
Maeve lifted her eyes and glanced at her. "Lots of places."
Rosy let out an "oh."
What was the point of asking something like that anyway? The more she asked, the angrier she got.
Her own boyfriend wouldn't take the time to look at engagement rings with her, and day after day he spent all this time with some brat. What the hell was that supposed to be?
