Camden River smiled faintly, "Hmm, I'll go wash up then."
Tong Tong nodded.
Camden River found clothes in the closet before heading to the bathroom, while Tong Tong stood on the balcony, her semi-dry hair cascading down, lost in thought.
There were four cigarette butts in the ashtray.
She hadn't turned on the light, but the moonlight was quite bright, allowing her to see clearly.
Her heart ached.
In her impression, Camden River wasn't a smoker. Someone like him would keep his distance from things like smoking and drinking. Yet he made exceptions repeatedly for Windsor Myres. Because she drank, perhaps he started smoking because of her too.
Ultimately, he was still wearing a mask.
These past few days, his smiles have increased, but those smiles were different from Camden River's occasional smiles of the past.
Instead, they reminded her of Daniel Davis.
