From Nico Haynes' hospital room nearby came Evalian Chapman's hearty laughter, joyous tones, and occasionally the soft 'Hmm, okay' from Dawn Sutherland. Those gentle words, however, made Daisy Grant feel so uncomfortable and suffocated.
Just then, Daisy Grant's phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID, which showed Aidan Sutherland, and pressed to reject.
The phone rang again, persistently. Daisy hesitated for a few seconds before pressing the answer button.
"Aidan, what's up?" Daisy's voice was indifferent.
Ever since she'd laid things out with Aidan and Elsa in the restaurant, she hadn't paid attention to Aidan. Aidan, however, had been calling and messaging her daily, but she, amidst inner turmoil, hadn't given any reply.
Aidan's voice came from the other end, "Daisy, where are you now? My mom and I just arrived at the Grant family home; Aunt Grant says you're not home. I'm already driving out. What's your location? I'll come get you."
